softmod black wii @4.3u

I got a black wii for a gift from my work over a year ago. We allready have a white modded one so i just opened it to setup in my other sons room.
Mostly it will be used for netflix, but i have some more plans, so with that a few questions

it asks for an update, i beleive i read its a simple update, and no probem to take ?
2. do i need to softmod useing a disk? or is there another method? just wondering if i should go rent a game or not.

Ive modded a few a few years back so plan on just following the guides, but would like to know a bit more,

Pretty sure our current supported guide addresses the issues/questions you have. Have you looked it over lately or do you need a link to it?

Wow, five year and change member. Do not accept an update. Do this instead. Also playing backups on a burned disc on a black Wii won't be possible. You'd be left with USB Loading, look here for the USB Compatibility Thread and here for the FAT32 guide.

i understand you cant play burnt disks, i have no intention of it, usb is fine with me.
found a video showing how to with letterbomb and homebrew, going to give that a go i think .

Not now it isn't. wii_man: kind of faily doing that via video, don't you think. FAILTUBE vids, I'm sure. We support our own guides and they're up to date.

that you no longer need to use the game exploit which IMO is better for me, since i dont have to go out and rent a game.
ill still most likely need the rest of that guide to make my backups and everything else.
I guess i did jump the gun a touch, but i think i was on not long ago asking about the update and was told it was fine, so i gave it a go.

I can tell you I ran owned and admin'd many a site when i had the time, and nothing was more frusterating than mods coming on saying, search, look read.
I asked 2 simple questions, and in fairness got one answer on not to update.

pretty sure my first post showed I knew where the guides were.
sorry for ranting LOL, kids busting my nuts gives me limited time to spend here, so really was looking for a yes or no ;)

yeah, my bad for sure. like I said, pretty sure i was dumb and asked that before to which i was told it was fine, it was for a minor netflix update or something, for that im sorry.
i just remember taking the update on my other sons modded wii and it was fine not that long ago
