can I load games off a network drive?

I've got a wireless network set up in my house, and I just modded my wii so I can copy all our kids games to a HDD and save the discs from damage... What I'd like to know is is there a way to save the games on one of our computers hard drives, and have the WII look to that drive for the games rather than a drive plugged in to the USB port?

This is a great reason to mod a Wii, and is the same reason I did it. It's also the reason I rip all of my kids' movies to a MediaCenter computer. I always hated when the kids would destroy a disc I paid 50 bucks for. To make it even worse, my 3 year old recently broke the DVD drive in the Wii by shoving 3 discs into it at the same time, so now the only option is to play the games off the external HDD. I'll probably replace the DVD drive in the Wii one of these days if I get around to it. They are fairly cheap on EBay.)

I have my Wii set to boot directly into Configurable USB Loader, so it's very simple for the kids to use. Recently we were at a friend's house with a Wii and the kids were confused by their kids needing to swap discs around to play games.

Unfortunately, I don't think it's possible to play the games off the LAN. I don't even think you can copy them to the external HDD over the LAN through the Wii (at least not that I'm aware of.) I have to unplug my external HDD from the Wii and plug it into my PC to copy the wbfs images over. However, a 1 TB external HDD is pretty inexpensive these days and can hold a lot of game images, so this isn't too bad of a way to go.
