After extracting ISO and transferring to WBFS, all games black screen (not USB prob)
I have read through everything before posting and could not find a solution to my problem.
I backed up all my games on to my HDD using a WBFS partition to store them.
All was fine. I decided I wanted to restore my HDD to 1 NTFS partition and keep the Wii games in .WBFS format instead, so I went about extracting the ISOs from my external HDD to my laptop before transferring them as .WBFS files (with Wii Backup Manager) on to the HDD again.
I have found that now, ALL games black screen. Every single one. I have tried every setting possible within many different USB loader programs, all with the same result. I have sinced transferred the .WBFS files back to ISOs and the same problem occurs.
It's not an 002, IOS or video problem as far as I can tell.
To confirm the problem lies with my game files, I tried another ISO sourced elsewhere and all was perfect (no settings tweaks needed whatsoever, game is on same drive as the others and transferred the same way).
My games are definitely not all 'problem games', I have read through that too. One of the games is Wii Play, which works flawlessly according to almost everywhere!
I truly believe the problem occured when converting/transferring the files. Another similar problem I could find is mentioned in 1 other thread here, but their problem was solved by forcing NTSC. I've read about a few other similar problems where they ended up giving up and reripping the games (which then worked fine).
However, this is not an option for me as my laser decided to give up the ghost just before Christmas.
I really want to solve the problem of why transferring the games caused this problem - was some important information missed out perhaps? Is there any way to 'rebuild' a file?
Lastly, an interesting point - I noticed that my ISO said the size was 81.7MB but size on disc was 4.7GB. So I used WiiScrubber to scrub the file which made it 4.7GB in both. I then trimmed it which made it 82.7MB in both. I was hopeful as the sizes matched and there seemed to be an extra MB (maybe the 'missing information') but of course the same thing happened when I tried to load it - black screen with the Wiimote shut off, 4 flashing lights if I press any buttons.
Other games will load the wrist strap warning but then proceed to do the same thing.
Any help in solving this issue would be greatly appreciated :-)
