Ok. Your sysCheck is in order. You can try reformatting the drive. Be sure to set the cluster size to 32, make sure the partition is primary/active, etc. etc. One thing I forgot is make sure your loaders are up to date. WiiFlow's latest is 4.0.5. Not sure about GX. Do you have either another drive to try on this Wii or another Wii to try this drive with? It could be a hardware issue.

Does the drive contain a "virtual CD-ROM" partition? Some USB hard drive have a read-only partition that contains software and documentation, which autoruns when connected. If it does, you loader may be configured to use that partition instead of the writable partition.

I know with CFG I can get a reading of the available space on the drive. Can you get that with USB Loader GX or WiiFlow? Do the games begin to rip and then freeze at any point between 0-100 percent? Or does it freeze up immediately?

Can you load the games from the disc channel?

I tried reformatting the drive using EaseUs Partition Master 9.1.1. However when i select "FILE SYSTEM: FAT32", the CLUSTER SIZE: drop box option disappears. It doesnt offer me the option to select the cluster size.

The WiiFlow version i have says r348 and the USB Loader GX is version 3.0 r1180.

I tried a DANE-ELEC 8gb thumb drive and was able to install 3 games without any issues.

I cant determine if the drive has a virtual cd rom partition. I want to think it doesnt because i formatted prior to installing any games to it. The games do freeze between 0-100 percent. I can load the games normally from the disc channel and they play fine.

Question, is it necessary to create a "wbfs" folder in the HD?

Ok, so nothing is wrong with the USB ports on the Wii. That's good. You might try the latest WiiFlow version. You could also try d2x v9 r49. Or maybe even v7 final. And if you have another Wii, try it on that as well.
