Just be aware that some apps require an SD card. For instance, if you ever need to run a sysCheck, you'll need an SD card to save the file to. Most apps support HDDs by now, but as long as you have an SD card on hand if you happen to need one.

Just wanted to add, going strictly from personal experience, that your WiiFlow channel can be deleted simply by going into the Wii menu options and going the same route you would an official channel. That's just my personal preference. Let us know if you get it working the way you want.

Thanks everyone again for your input. Just so everyone knows I do still plan to keep my SD card for certain things as mentioned above.....this is where I stand. I changed the directories in the ini file as mentioned earlier in this thread and this is my result. I removed the SD card went to the wiiflow channel and clicked on start. Nothing. It went to the wiiflow splash screen then turned black and brought me back to the wii system menu. So then i went into the Home Brew channel. With the SD card still removed it loaded up the apps from my USB Hard drive. I clicked on wiiflow and it worked perfectly. So what I think the problem is that the wiiflow channel does not look or is not aimed to look on the usb hard drive for wiiflow only for the SD card. After i put back in the SD card it will load wiiflow with the channel forwarder. Does anyone know where i can get a channel forwarder for wiiflow that looks on the usb drive for wiiflow? Looks like the one provided on the softmod any wii thread does not.

Sorry forgot a few points. The main reason i would like to do all this is i want to run as much as possible off of my hard drive alone as possible and use the usb for things that are just system type programs wii mod....stuff like that. All gaming stuff and emulators, roms, and wiiflow i would like to keep on the hard drive. Then im going to make a full back up of my hard drive in case it fails and just plug in the back up. Thats what my goal is. Just so everyone knows.

Alternatively you could get one of the newer official forwarder channels from HERE.

Ok so I don't fully understand the thread that is linked in the 4th post when i read it. What does Full Channel WADs actually mean? What I think I understand when I read that thread is that the channel forwarder wad that I originally ran straight off the wii that is aimed to my SD card I would have to delete uninstall that WAD. My wiiflow files on my USB Drive I brought over from my SD card I would have to delete and fully and reinstall everything from scratch?

Or I think I if I install one of the Full Channel WADs that are linked on his page it will work with the wiiflow that is on my external usb hard drive? Is that correct? I won't have to do anything else with my wiiflow except what I've done with my ini file?

    Sorry still confused.

    Thanks again.

Would one of those channel forwarders look for wiiflow on the hard drive?

Not 100% certain, but I believe so. Wouldnt hurt to try. You could always delete it if it didnt work...

Keep in mind you don't have to use a channel. If its too frustrating to figure out, just forgo the channel and use Hbc.

Hey everyone. Just an update. I got it working correctly last night. It was a bit of a hassle but its all good. I will post the steps I took later tonight so others will know how to accomplish wiiflow strictly from the hard drive as I did. Thanks all for your help. I would not have been able to do it without you!

    Thanks!

    Todd
