Unable to play Spyro's Skylanders Adventure

    Hi everybody,

a re-patched 4.3E Wii according to "Softmod/Hack almost ANY Wii v12" should (from what I understand, see attached sysCheck file) be able to play the Spyro's Skylanders Adventure game from the cd or from an unmodified backup disk image through a loader according to indications in the net (use Ios 247 or 223 for this game), but after many tentatives cannot still have the usb portal to work.

If I turn it on after pressing "A" at the splash screen it turns on and then it just quickly turns itself off. The game then reports issues with the portal.

I cannot even use the disc channel to succesfully launch the game.

Could please someone streamline proper loading procedure step by step so that I can check and correct errors ? (indications for Configurable USB loader, USB GX loader, Wiiflow or Neogamma are all fine to me)

In particular indications needed for a thorough verification procedure should include:

    1) In which exact usb ports should the HDD and wi-fi portal dongle be plugged ? (I have HDD in Port0 and Portal dongle in Port1)

    2) When exactly the usb portal has to be turned on and how it should exactly behave in terms of both led and main arena lights behaviour (solid, blinking...) ?

    3) How can it be determined if there is an issue depending on portal syncing, and which precise steps (and when) should in case be carried out to correct the situation ?

Many thanks in advance to anybody willing to help me out

P.S. Everything else so far appears to be working properly

Check the troublesome games guide (link in my sig). Also, post the text out of the syscheck, not a zip file. There is a guide on how to post a syscheck, the link is in my sig, also.

    Hi dniMretsaM,

first of all many thanks for your quick reply and indications and sorry for the ill posted sysCheck.

In addition to my previous post I can further add that I had already previously searched for, found and tried out suggestions available in the Skylanders Spyro's Adventure [Guide].

More in detail I tried to use:

    - Neogamma version R9 b56, d2x56v8final (249) (with IOS autodetect) to load the original CD

    - Configurable USB Loader V70r48 auto IOS249 (r21008) Base: IOS56 d2x v8final mload v1.0 to load SSPP52 4.08GB IOS56 using AUTO, 223-mload

and 223-yal and 249 IOSs [IOS Reload blocked]

    - USB loader GX v3.0 IOS249 (Rev 21008) (d2x v8final base56) to load SSPP52 from HDD using 223 and 247 IOSs

    - WiiFlow (Mod. 3.1 - r348) IOS249 base 56 v8 to load SSPP52 from HDD using AUTO and 247 IOSs

The result was that in any case was always reported impossibility to find Portal of Power (I've tried turning on the portal both before and after pressing "A" at the splash screen).

    Here below follows my sysCheck:

    Spoiler

Thanks again in advance for any help

P.S. Do you think the Wii is currently properly patched ?

    I'm sorry, no problems here.
HDD in lower USB port and so USB portal dongle in upper USB port.
    Works without a glitch.

    Thanks anyway, helimod.

I'm starting to believe it may be a problem of syncronization.

What I in fact forgot to mention in my previous posts is that at least I'm sure the portal and the game were working fine when loaded from original CD, before re-patching the wii.

This anyway doesn't help me much, since so far I've not been able to correct the situation

A few things I noticed from your sysCheck. You're using an an older version of the HBC. You have IOS 252 in there somehow. Not sure if that's left from an old mod or what (I'm also not sure if that's affecting anything). I'd recommend running through the Softmod Any Wii guide starting with the spoiler labled "Softmods with HOMEBREW CHANNEL installed." You should also try the newest version of WiiFlow, which you can get from here. I have no personal experience with this game, so I'm not sure what exactly to try.

    Hi dniMretsaM,

sorry for the late follow up, but it took time to get hands on the Wii again.

I went through your suggestions, upgrading HBC to 1.1.2, Bootmii to v1.5 and WiiFlow to 4.0.5 all to no avail.

I have not upgraded Priiloader to 0.8b6 nor d2x v8 to d2x v9, as per your signature, as they both appeared to me still as betas and since you didn't suggest to touch them.

Also I didn't know how to interpret your consideration on IOS 252. It probably is there from the previous (and original for this console) patch that was no longer functioning after an update from disc was carried out and before I re-patched it with "Softmod Any Wii guide". So I don't know what to do with it (actually I don't even know how to remove it, should that be the case) and I did nothing.

Unfortunately I still have the same problem, Skylanders Spyro's Adventure cannot be played in any case, neither from original CD nor from backups.

If this can offer any insight I can add a further consideration that seems to rule out sync issues between portal and wii.

If I turn on the portal before starting the program from original CD or launcher it stays on and it enters it slow colour changing routine.

As soon as the program is launched, actually before the white background page with advice on lacing controller appears, the portal quickly blinks in whitish colour and turns itself off. Further tries to turn it on all end up with the portal almost immediately quickly blinking and turning itself off.

    Thanks anyway for the support.

    Hi WII-KING,

many thanks but I think I already have installed indicated proper version cIos223.

I'd anyway like you to see if you can find any differences in your system respect to my sysCheck which follows.

    Spoiler

I'd like to pinpoint any differences and possibly remove them (possibly with help from someone which understands IOSes better than me).

I forgot to mention before that I'm sure my portal works as the game was running fine from original CD (this happened after the original patching applied to Wii was no longer properly functioning, due to an upgrade erroneously made from CD, and before applying current patch according to "Softmod Any Wii guide").

What I'm unfortunately not completely sure is that sync problems may be ruled out as I'm not sure how the portal should exactly behave in each moment (i.e. before game launch, during loading, after pressing "A", etc...)

    Thanks in advance
