It could also be your portal or USB dongle is broken.
Can you try it on a different Wii?

FYI, here is my sysCheck, Skylanders are happy with it.

    sysCheck

P.S. Best is to put your sysCheck online using english language.

helimod, WII-KING, dniMretsaM (in strict order of most recent replies),

I have to wear sackcloth and ashes as I finally found out the portal was actually properly working after changing a fourth set of new batteries.

My portal appears to be picky and in demand of very high power batteries.

I therefore humbly demand your pardon for unduly wasting your time so far.

I wish in any case to thank you for supporting me.

This thread, at least for me, can now be considered closed (I don't know if there is something else I should do about).

My best new year wishes to you all

Lol glad you got it working. No, you don't need to do anything. Just let it set. And happy new year to you as well!

    lol!

For sure the portal eats batteries.
    I'm using 2000mAh NiMH's to feed it.

Happy new year for your family as well.

Glad your problem solved trazom, this thread will be helpful in future, with regards to the battery issue.
And just for future dni, helimod, and Wii-King, we have a guide for Skylanders. But good work helping the Op here.
