that guide mentions not being able to play backups from disc anymore.. does that only apply to gamecube games or wii games too? (i.e will i still be able to play wii games from backup disc even after doing that)? Also is theer a way to do it without needing a disc in?

It will only disable GC disc loading, Wii games will still work. And i haven't used DIOS MIOS Lite, but from what I've read it requires no disc. Just downloaded the latest version (google lDIOS MIOS Lite google code" and go to the downloads section)

Out of curiosity is there any specific reason you want to load from SD rather than USB?

I only have a 32gb usb drive.. Id rather save that little space for other things.. especially since my SDHC card is small and has a a lotta space i wont use... sooo USB is for wii stuff and I use the only 3 GC games i have with my SD card

OK I SEE 2 dm lITES ONE THAT SAYS:

2.5 real NAND with DMToolbox (+source)

    and another that says

2.5 *NEEK DI with DMToolbox (+source)

I have no clue which one to get

the guide links to a DML file at mediafire but i dunno if thats the latest version (i.e one of the two listed above)

    Ah, well ok

I was just curious. Anyway, if you follow the link I posted you should be fine. It may or may not disable GC disc loading (some people have said it doesn't some say it does) but you can always get the original MIOS file from ModMii and reinstall it to restore disc loading should you decide you want to disc load GC games again. The thing about it disabling disc loading is one reason why I recommend Devolution over Dios Mios but Devolution only does USB so DML is what you want.

    Get "2.5 real NAND"
The one in the guide is outdated but the instructions will still work for the new version.

Back when I used Dios Mios (full USB version) it had the same issue of disabling GC discs but I was still able to use Wii discs so I don't think you need to worry. Like I said though, you can always reinstall the original MIOS if any problems arise.

ok heres an issue... when i get "2.5 real NAND" theres no folder that says "put into sd card" like there is on the version being used on the guide.. thus how do I know which part of "2.5 real NAND" to put on my card and which to leave out?

Look for a .wad file on the pack you downloaded. Copy that wad into your SD/wad folder
