Wii Updated from Disk - USB Loader doesn't work anymore

    Hi,

    My problem :

Wii bought in 2009, Chipped with Wasabi, Homebrew channel installed (I don't really remember how).

I live in Canada, so it's an NTSC version?

Data and WADs on SD card

Games on USB drive, accessed with USB Loader GX.

Never updated it (I think, I don't really remember).

The Skyander Giants disc was inserted, and it asked for an update. We clicked on yes.

The USB Loader doesn't work anymore.

    Current situation :

    The Wii still boots.

I can go in the Homebrew channel and start USB Loader.

When I select a game, the screen goes black and "reboots" to the Homebrew menu.

    Solution?

I don't have "installed" or "updated" any new software on the Wii for a long time. No prill Loader or BootMii for exemple.

What "solution" would be available? Can I "downgrade" the menu? Should I install prill Loader before trying to downgrade the menu?

    Thanks

I wouldn't advise you to downgrade your wiis menu. That has been known to cause a full brick.

Updating the Wii has stubbed the CIOSes needed to run usb loaders. Use multi mod manager to unstub and remove them. If this fails then load IOS 36 then try again and it should work. However this is what works on my 4.3e, I'm assuming it would be the same for 4.3u.

Then follow the soft mod any Wii guide to reinstall the CIOSes to get the loader (s) working.

From a SystemCheck (Don't remember which one)

    IOS222 (rev 65280): Stub
    IOS223 (rev 65280): Stub
    IOS249 (rev 65280): Stub
IOS250 (rev 65535): Trucha Bug, ES Identify, Acces NAND, USB 2.0
    IOS254 (rev 65281): BootMii

I used Multi Mod Manager to remove the ISO. There is an option for these fives. The 222, 223 and 249 were removed.

I got new versions from the "Softmode any Wii" page and used Multi Mod Manager to install the news WADS.

    From SystemCheck :

IOS222[38] (rev 4, Info: hermes-v4): Trucha Bug, ES Identify, Acces NAND, USB 2.0
IOS223[38+37] (rev 4, Info: hermes-v4): Trucha Bug, ES Identify, Acces NAND, USB 2.0
IOS249[56] (rev 21008, Info: d2x-v8final): Trucha Bug, Acces NAND, USB 2.0
IOS250 (rev 65535): Trucha Bug, ES Identify, Acces NAND, USB 2.0
    IOS254 (rev 65281): BootMii

    It Works!

    Thanks!
