Update from 3.1e to latest system menu on hardmoded wii??

Hello everyone

I did search the forums and did not find what I was looking for. Also I dont have a lot of time to sit infront of PC and search for related posts. For me it is faster if I write new post.

So thank you very much to ones that will answer to my question.

I bought my wii four to five years ago. I believe it is hardmoded as I can play backup DVDs. I dont have homebrew or any other hacking app on wii. I used it for about a year and then I stoped using it and did not bother about new system updates. Recently I bought Zumba fitness 2 for my wife and the game wants me to updade the system. Current system on Wii is 3.1e, but i believe zumba needs 4.3.

So my question is. Is it ok for me to update to latest system with hardmoded wii or do I have to softmode it. I still need some catching up to do first.

Updating to 4.3 could disable your modchip and you will not be able to use it (please remember to update your modchip firmware to last version).
In my opinion best idea is to follow softmod any wii guide by mauifrog and you will have all what you will need to run any game.

So you've bought Zumba FItness for your beloved, just accept the update and have fun with her.
Softmod or play backup disc should not be your priority. You can Softmod anytime in future. Easy.
