Lightbulb Playing from an SD card or disc?

First of all, just want to state that I'm quite ignorant in this hacking/modding stuff. I used mauifrog's "Softmod ANY Wii" guide, so I have Wiiflow, Neogamma and USB Loader GX and whatever cIOS it included already installed. What I liked about that guide was that even if you had no idea what you were doing, it had a step by step guide so that you could still get it done.

Now, I've seen many topics about playing games from a HD and only a few mentions about doing it from an SD card. The thing is that the latter aren't very detailed (as in a step by step for newbies guide), and many people suggest different programs for doing so. Now, what is the easiest program/method to get this done? I don't even know what a partition is so if you could provide a simple FAQ/guide to read it'd be great.

Also, is running games from a disc much easier to do, as in just insert it and run one of those programs? If so, could you give me a link as well?

    Thanks for any help

Only the early Wiis can play backups from disc. I think its the ones made before 2008. Its not really worth playing them from disc as it takes to long to load. For Playing Wii games from SD i would recommend cfg USB Loader. It can load games from disc, USB & SD. You can also use it for ripping your Wii games if you have the old sort drive.

Wow, while I was searching for "cfg USB loader" the installation instructions I found were really long, after I checked my SD card it was already installed along with the others (I supposed it was included in mauifrog's) so I just run it and basically that's all you need to do.

    Thanks

OK, so everything was working fine, but since I was using a 2GB SD card I decided to move all the files to a 16GB one, now, every time I try to run a game I get the following message and the loader shuts down

    ERROR: Setting up fragments 03
ID Mismatch [game code goes here]
    ERROR: SetWBFS: -3

Already tried searching for that error # but I haven't found anything, any advise for this?

I switched to Wifflow, and it's the same thing. If I try to load a game I get this message

    Set USB failed: -2

I noticed that the only game that works in wiiflow is one that is 400mb, the rest are >2gb, maybe the size has something to do with this?

Not sure what to suggest. Its not a problem that i have encountered. Did you rip the game with cfg. Are you using a FAT32 file system. You could try defragmentting the drive, but it will probably be easier to copy everything to your PC, then reformat the SD card, then copy it all back.
As for Wiiflow. Set USB failed could just be a config setting. Could be that its looking for a USB drive. I don't think size has anything to do with it. Unless your big games are fragmented.
