Is this even possible? Play games from SDHC card?

    Hi everyone.
I'm really new here as you can see but I am wondering if what I am trying to do is even possible.
I will try to be as brief as possible, and if anyone can straighten me out that would be fantastic.
I have a 4.3U with a Drivekey installed from a prior owner. I went ahead and softmodded the unit so I could play a backup off the SD card instead of DVD.
We own the TW2012 game disk, but this is the second one we have had to purchase because one had already failed with barely any scratches on it.
My brother, friends I play TW2012 once a week in a beer drinking garage party. Its always fun until the disk craps out mid game. Especially since we each throw 5 bucks in the pot to the winner.
We were hoping to backup the DVD to SD and play it from that for reliability purposes. (I understand the game loads faster this way too)
I already have HBC installed as well as a few usb Loader programs. I tried to backup the disk to a dedicated 8GB SDHC card using WBFS.
I just cannot get the game to load from SD.
I see a lot of people using USB to load an external drive to load and play games but I really don't need all that space as we only play the one game.
I read somewhere that you can split partition the SD card and have one WBFS partition as well as another partition to hold apps and wads,...we do play Galaga sometimes :-)
    Is this even really possible?
Can someone explain what the best steps to get this done are if it is possible?
    Thanks.

    Lightbulb

I've tried this and it's an epic fail lol. Honestly to partition the sd card you have to FLIP the card's flash structure, and convert the file systems internal setup. I've done this, split the thing into fat32/ntfs and ummm... Needless to say, unless you can reprogram your wii to understand the SECOND partition, since the wii only understand ONE partition, this is terribly a hassle... Now if you ran everything off of a fat32 usb stick, that would be COMPLETELY awesome, since fat32 runs EVERYTHING from usb and it's smaller capacity would be MUCH more convenient for you, noting the situation.

UPDATE: I'm so sorry, i forgot about this. Check out this guide on FAT32 formatting. HERE

At about this point, you should be able to use your SD for game-loading:

    Try this

I'm gonna try that procedure with the SD card.
However if I go the route of a USB memory stick is there a compatibility chart for sticks?

Honestly, I haven't seen one yet that hasn't worked. Anything you have as long as it's USB 2.0/3.0 [3.0 w/ backwards capability] you should be quite good!

Hey Angelsosa you were right! That worked I bought a 16GB PNY stick now I can load games with WiiFlow.
In the whole process I ended up loading a bunch of other programs like USB Loader GX and the like. Is there a way to remove those so I only have WiiFlow on my channels page?

    1) Load your USB Stick and your SD Card into your pc, either simultaneously or one by one.
    2) Navigate to the folder named apps: USB/SDRoot:\apps\
    3) In this folder, the majority of the loaders are named by their folders accordingly.
    4) If you want only WiiFlow, delete all of the other file folders...
*Note: If you ever want to install new wads (channels/forwarders) pay attention to the loaders you're removing
    - MMM = Multi-mod Manager, a wad installer, and all around good program, you might keep this
    - USB Loader GX, you might keep this in case you ever have problems with WiiFlow; it makes a great backup
    - Wad Managers, if you feel like you're done modding your wii for now, you might just delete these files; they're always available online
    5) Repeat the process on your other device as well.
    6) Report back on how that worked for you
