Help! Config. USB Loader Freezes during booting. Yes, I used the search function!

Maybe I am bad at utilizing the search function, because I have not found any threads that outline solutions for my specific problem.
Mods: If this is in the wrong place, have mercy upon me and redirect it to the correct location.

I have been using my softmodded wii for the past year with absolutely no issues. I was trying to play my digital backup of SSB Brawl, and out of the blue it decided to freeze with the tag ISO 248 below the script that said it was booting the game. I have tried booting other games, all with the same result. :mad:

So I began doing my homework and found that some people made their WBFS partition the primary partition and it resolved their issues. So naturally I plugged my external hard drive into my computer and opened the disk utility (running OSX) to see what options I had to change the WBFS partition to the primary. The hard drive partition used to backup my computer was present, but when trying to view my WBFS drive using WBFS for OSX, there was nothing there. Usually all the backups would show up when the application opens, so another red flag went up.

I tried to open bootmii to see if there was anything obviously wrong, but it froze up as well...

I am assuming this problem deals with the hard drive, not the softmodding files on the wii.

Games on disk work perfectly, backups do not.

Have you checked your SD Card, or if your HDD is multi-partitioned, made sure that the FAT32 portions of the filesystem aren't damaged?
Download this package, run it on your SD card, since I've found out that my program might not run in a wbfs file system... Not too sure.

BTW, have you updated/modified the contents of anything other than games within that year of perfect operation?

Other than adding some new backups to my HDD, I downloaded the netflix application out of the shop channel. Would restoring my hard drive and re-partitioning it potentially fix the problem?

Yes! You're exactly on the mind-set you need to be on. Here's the listing to accomplish this with:
1) *IMPORTANT!: Back up whatever data you feel is important on your HDD, games, movies, whatever you might want to keep for later usage.
2) After backing up your HDD, you should format your drive using EaseUS Partition Manager found HERE. (You may read up on it a bit to familiarize yourself with it.)
*Note Naturally, your format choice is definitely up to you. My preferrence was NTFS formatting, however, the guide to FAT32 formatting would definitely be something to look into if you don't want to partition-ize your HDD too much. (I'll mention, that I've had no problems with it.)
3) Format your SD Card to FAT32, cluster size 32Kb. (This may or may not be accomplish-able by EaseUs.)
4) After you format your HDD and SD Card, begin this guide, which has explicit details which you should follow VERY closely. Make sure to read it very thoroughly.
*Note: This should take less than one hour, so don't become discouraged by the tutorial's length.
5) Since your Wii seems to be soft-modded priorly, start at this header:

As of hackmii 1.1.0, ios58 will be installed prior to hbc install for all wiis 4.2 and less.
Below you will find many methods for loading the hackmii installer. Bannerbomb is best and is supported on 3.0-4.2 wiis.
Choose the method compatible with your wii.

If you already have a softmod with HBC installed, you can update your softmod with this guide.

Note: 4.3 wiis can skip installation of ios58 and 61, and simply load Hackmii from the HBC.

Backup and Format your sd-card
Extract WiiMod-58-61_Hackmii_1.1.0 to sd:\
Load the HomeBrew Channel
Launch WiiMod - WiiMod will load
-Select Wad Manager -Press A
-Press 1, -press A -Install all wads
-IOS58 and IOS61 will install
-Press "any button" to continue
-Exit WiiMod to go back to the Homebrew Channel
-Select hackmii_installer_v1.0 - Press A to Launch

-Hackmii Installer Loads

5) After you've completed your guide, and everything seems to be ready to go, extract/run/follow-walkthrough on this program I've developed to make sure all will go well before and after testing. (This will double-check your directories listing, so if we run into any problems, we'll know where to go. Run this on both your HDD and SD card.)
6) Report file contents back here afterwards.
*Note: Make sure to go thru the walkthrough of the program
7) Restore any files (mainly backup files to test your results.

Since I cannot view my WBFS files on my PC, how can i backup my files?

Have you tried using the WBFS/Wii Backup Manager, download the file from here: LINK!
After downloading, check out the tab that says DRIVE 1. Select your drive letter. It should definitely give you your files :)

Unfortunately I am using OSX, so none of those programs will work for me, any alternative programs for Mac u could suggest?
