I can't install GCN games to my external harddrive because I don't have enough space?

Wii games install fine. I had some trouble with Super Mario Sunshine, the download got stuck. I switched the system off and on again because I couldn't cancel the download. When I came back the game was there, so I deleted it thinking that the game wouldn't be installed properly. I tried installing it again but I was told my hard drive didn't have enough space. I then tried installing Wind Waker which also didn't work (my only other GCN game). Is there a fix for this or will I need to download files from the internet?

Edit: My hard drive has over 200GB left.

Try cleanrip and rip them to the sd card, then transfer them (using your computer) to your hdd.
Don't forget to run the game through Discex, then tranfer it to the HDD.
Here is a link to cleanrip.->CleanRip
Put clean rip on your sd card in the apps folder and run it from HBC.

Before starting, is there a tutorial for this or is it really straightforward with errors almost an impossibility?

This is straight forward and you should not get any error's.
After you do the above, you just take the whole folder where the game has been save to and drag and drop in the game folder on your HDD.
