    Wii Won't Load Certain Games

    So After a Long Hiauts of not gaming of the Wii, I decided to play some Super Smash Brothers Brawl. I ploped it in my SoftModed Wii and, I got a black screen. So I decided to plop in Mario Kart Wii, and I got a black screen. Then I decided to get the most basic game and put it in. Wii Sports. It worked, but how about SSBB/MKW?

    I know for sure SSBB is a dual layer disc but I don't know about Mario Kart. I sometimes get disc read errors when putting the SSBB disc in my wii (must have a dirty lens).
    I don't know why you'd get a black screen though...
    Are you using the original disc through the disc channel?

    Yes, Mario Kart is a dual layer disc with multiple partitions, I do believe. Mario Kart was the one game that always gave me a helluva lot of trouble. A black screen sounds like you're using the wrong or missing some IOSes. I would consider re-modding the Wii according to the Softmod Any Wii guide.... (found in the Guides and Tutorials section, one day, I will have the link in my sig)...

    Don't forget to stop by and introduce yourself on your way there, as well!

    To reply to everybody, yes, both games are retail versions on a optical disk. I guess I'm just going to re-soft mod my wii, huh?

    * Mario Kart Wii (NTSC-U)...................................... [2.58GB]
    * Mario Kart Wii (PAL)......................................... [2.59GB]

    Info is here.->List Game Size After Scrubbing
    Scrubbing just takes out all filling they use to max it out to the disc size...4.32gb I believe.

    Thanks Jax, Just got a really old and puny SD card that had 14 MB of space in it (because for some reason, my 2 GB Sandisk Fried itself and now can't load on any SD/MMC port) Got IOS 36-64 v1040 and used MMM to install it. I wondered why 36 got uninstalled in the first place o.o
