    Gamecube games on the HDD

So ive read around and saw that gamecube games could only be played by burning them to a disk or from an SD card. The threads that I read however were several months to half a year old. Has the feature to play Gamecube ISO's on the external HDD been implemented yet?

Yay, i found an older version of the Dios Mios guide that only used SD. Now i can finally put all my gamecube games in the attic. Thanks.

I have a question about that tutorial, is it only a chance to lose the ability to play retail games or i WILL lose the ability to play retail games?

Yes, I believe you will lose the Ability to play GC original /backups from the disc drive.

You will lose the ability to play gamecube games from the disk channel, however you can still play disks from things like NeoGamma and the like (tested with DML)

Must you have an original GC game to do this? All mine are buried in a box somewhere! I already have most of the ones I like in GCM format on my HDD.

Most excellent news.. any way to use Wiimote instead of GC controller? Or will Classic Gamepad work?

Neither Classic Gamepad nor Wiimote will work. Devolution is working on allowing wiimote emulation in gamecube games however they're not that far yet. And the DML, DM, and Devolution creators have all stated that they won't implement Classic Controller support.

Will the Wiimote/Classic Controller ever be supported?

    • No, this would require a complete SDIO/BlueTooth/Wiimote lib, which would also take up way more space than available. (BT+Wiimote lib in libOGC are ~600KB).

You're going to have to use your gamecube controller.

Guess I'll have to dig around for my GC stuff after all.
