Softmodding with ModMii when I'm hard-modded - possible?

    Hi guys,

I have a hard-modded wii. I got it modded it in 2009 and have no idea what kind of chip is installed. (if there's a way I can find out please let me know!)

    My question is,

will it brick my wii if I use modmii to softmod my wii as well? Currently my backups all run fine through the DVD drive but I would like to try USB modding as it looks pretty cool.

    Thank you

    Thank you,

But now I have a different problem.. So after successfully softmodding thru Modmii, everything looked great until...

The USB loader that Modmii had me install would not detect my HDD,

Then I looked at your answer and installed USB loader gx. USB loader gx worked great but did not recognize any of my backups I put on the USB drive earlier via Wiibackup manager.

So now my question is... (1) what am I doing wrong with the USB loader that came with modmii? I went to HBC and the "cfg" loader program were in fonts illegible (just boxes). Plus, the usbloader channel off of my homepage is not detecting my HDD.

Secondly, how do I put the backup files onto the HDD so that it's compatible with USBloader GX?

Oh and if I may... lastly, when I use WiiMC and try to run a DVD movie, the program just tries to load and then crashes back to HBC. All other aspects of WIImc seems to be working great (youtube for ex)

    Any ideas?

Your HDD maybe not compitable(Usually this is the problem)Search HDD compitability list from this site.Keep GX and Wiibackup manager they're the best combo About WiiMc HBC must use IOS58 for that.I cant use it because of that.I recommend buying a DVD player.Cause you must reinstall HBC to make IOS58 work.I recommend dont mess with them if you are lazy. Its not worth Hope this helps

Since USB loader GX works fine on my computer, I guess its okay

But I still don't understand why the loader is not recognizing the back-up images I put on it with my computer. I simply clicked "add" and clicked the appropriate image, and then it seemed to work fine making it into WBFS.... what am I doing wrong? any idea?
