How can I safely upgrade from 4.2 to 4.3?

So here's my story I had a Wii a couple years back when 4.2 was out.
I had the wii hacked with homebrew and backup loader and whatnot.
It's been a long time since I've used the wii and now everything is 4.3 so I figure it's best to update.
Also another reason is because I lost the sd card that I used(I got another one) and I don't have the backup loader anymore.

Anyway how can I safely upgrade my Wii from 4.2u to 4.3u? And then where should I go from there?

Not exactly, but you may want to give this a read.

Thanks, I read that earlier. It says
"Warning: Never Ever Ever Update Your Wii From Nintendo"

And that's exactly what inspired this thread.

Inspired? because you didn't understand what that means, or you just refuse to acknowledge it? Not really sure the issue, but if you follow that info it will update what needs to be updated. It has nothing to do with the system menu, and more to do with IOS updating and CIOS installation.

You were right I just didn't read the part about updating to 4.3

But today I have read the guide several times and followed it step by set with no problems but it still says I'm on 4.2 after updating the IOS files given.
I guess since everything is working I have nothing to complain about and it will have to do.

But I don have one more question. If I want to use the USB loader to play PAL games is there anything special I need to do?
