    Help with backing up

My Bootmii backup files went missing and I want to install cIOS 249. Would I be able to launch bootmii again to save a backup? I have no idea if I have any cIOS's installed, so I also have no clue what my chances of bricking. Also I was wondering if I should install Priiloader to block disc updates and such? Would installing Priiloader at this point be safe?

yes you can launch Bootmii again can be donw from HBC. if you can't install 249 it could be a stub. always a chance at bricking but very slim for what you are wanting to do. yes install priiloader it can be done at anytime. version 0.7 i believe is the latest.

jax, i will post when i get home but i think 249 is installed since i can use usb loader gx ( i installed the wad ) but it wont read my micro sd card which is plugged into a USB sd card reader in the left usb port of the wii. It obviously read it was there since it did not have the countdown "searching for HDD". It would automatically give my channel list instead of what was on the card. I am wondering if i need to do something else before i drop 60$ on a external hard drive

To Be honest with you, an External HDD would be the way to go.

Just make sure you check the Usb Compatibility List, before making a purchase.

The latest version of GX automatically defaults to your channel list if no external HDD is detected, so if you do indeed have the latest version of GX, that could indicate your usb card reader is not being recognized. Did you do a full format on the card to fat32?

And btw, I agree with jax 100%...lol

I am going to purchase the Seagate Expansion Portable Drive ST902504EXA101-RK 250GB from my local Best Buy in the near future. It is in fact working according to the usb compatibility list. This SHOULD work and load right? I dont want to waste the money if it wont work

If it's on the list as working, then yes!

Just set it up the right way and you should be fine.

And by setting it up right, you mean making sure it is in the correct format and such? Sorry for all the questions.
