    Wii dvd drive questions

    I have a black wii with 4.2u that has the newer dvd drive in it that prevents me from loading dvd-r is there a way around this? could i just buy an older dvd drive and install it into my wii and have that work?

    Yes that is possible. But usb loading is far superior than playing from a disc.

    I can agree with that but I want to do this to play GameCube backups. Thanks for the info.

    Yes I have seen that before but then I am limited to 32gb and I have over 40 different GC games. and 1 dvd drive is cheaper then 2 sd cards. but thanks for the info you have been very helpful.

    I am having trouble find the older drive do you happen to know what the name of the older drive is? i think its a d2c but i am not sure.
