    noob

    i am planning to buy wii but i have some questions.

    can I play online if I softmod my wii?
    Do I have to mod it if I want to make my homebrew apps?
    can I program in c++ to make apps for wii?

    can I play online if I softmod my wii.
    is there some sort of hard drive I can save my games to so I don't have to put them on dvd's after I download them

    Some sort of hard drive Any HDD will work, be sure to format it to WBFS and use WBFS Manager to put games on it, then use Usb Loader GX (Recommended) WiiFlow, or Configurable USB Loader.

    Formatting to WBFS is not needed. You can format it to Fat32 and make a folder in there named : "WBFS" without the " .

    i think fat32 doesn't support files bigger then 1gb, and lots of games are bigger then that.
    if I play online with modded wii can nintendo brick it.

    FAT32 has a 4GB limit, and an app such as wiibackup manager will split files larger than that for you, so the size limit is inconsequential. It is perfectly safe to play online with a modded Wii.
