Cios help

Thanks Pob3008!

I unfortunately went out and looked for other guides on the internet and youtube as I did with the softmod and now although I have Wiiflow (v2.1 r86, IOS249 rev20, baseIOS570) and USB Loader GX (Version: 1.0 r866) working with a external hard drive, I cant update Wiiflow "Download Failed" and I can't download themes for USB Loader Gx "Download Failed" or update because it goes to a black screen with text that says it had an exception. Also because I didn't use the ModPack-PAL-PAL.zip all the cios, ios and wads I need I'm not I have all I need for the future.

I thought instead of trying to install the ModPack-PAL-PAL.zip over what I already have I should ask the experts first. Please look over my sysCheck and tell me what I need to add, take off and please explain to this impatient Noob how to do so.

I've moved your post to a new thread as the other is for introductions only. Looks like u need to install the latest revision of d2x the guide is in my sig but i don't think that is the problem with u updating wiiflow or downloading covers, that is more likely to do with either the internet connection on your Wii or your sd/hd setup.

Hey Pob3008 thanks once again for your help and putting me on to the correct thread.

I'm very new to this and trying to make sure follow all the instructions to the nth degree so I can do with all the help I can get.

With the
d2x cIOS installation, going on the sysCheck I've posted:

"
When you load the installer (cIOS Selection), IOS 58 (AHBPROT) will be automatically selected you can carry on with the installation. If you don't have it , select IOS 236 and then on the following page where you actually installd2x."

Do I have the IOS 58 (AHBPROT) or do I need to select IOS 236 and then on the following page where you actually install d2x?

I'm pretty sure I understand the Online Installation:

- Download and extract to SD/USB (Do I put it in the apps folder?)
- Load the HBC and load the d2x installer
- Select IOS36 or 236 to use during the installation
- Select cIOS to install <D2X v8>
- Select base IOS i.e <56>
- Select cIOS slot i.e <249>
- Press A to install

With the "Remember to do the same for IOS250 but with base 57 and other IOS" does this mean I:

- Select IOS250 to use during the installation
- Select cIOS to install <D2X v8>
- Select base IOS i.e <57>
- Select cIOS slot i.e <57>
- Press A to install

Please let me if I'm on the right track and if going on my sysCheck it should be safe.

Thank you all for your knowledge.

Thank you so much Pob3008 for taking the time to help me.

So with: "Remember to do the same for IOS250 but with base 57 and other IOS" the below is right?

- Select IOS250 to use during the installation
- Select cIOS to install <D2X v8>
- Select base IOS i.e <57>
- Select cIOS slot i.e <57>
- Press A to install

Where should I ask about the: I have Wiiflow (v2.1 r86, IOS249 rev20, baseIOS570) and USB Loader GX (Version: 1.0 r866) working with a external hard drive, I cant update Wiiflow "Download Failed" and I can't download themes for USB Loader Gx "Download Failed" or update because it goes to a black screen with text that says it had an exception? I can download covers and other things just not update on Wiiflow or do themes (I really don't I just thought it might help) and update on USB Loader GX. So the internet connection is fine. I'm guessing I need to learn more about the SD setup where wiiflow is installed.

Look forward to a reply from you very knowledgable people.

Cheers,

T

Just had a look at the d2x Custom installer and it is asking me to select the cIOS revision which I have no clue about and I get the below messages:

- Select IOS36 or 236 to use during the installation (I can't see this option on the page)
- Select cIOS to install <D2X v8>
- Select base IOS i.e <56>
- Select cIOS slot i.e <249>
- Press A to install

notes
Offline mode: IOS56-64-v5661.wad file required (downloadable with NUSD) Do I need to install this and how?
Warning(s): The cIOS detected in slot 249 will be overwritten

and

- Select IOS36 or 236 to use during the installation (I can't see this option on the page)
- Select cIOS to install <D2X v8>
- Select base IOS i.e <57>
- Select cIOS slot i.e <250>
- Press A to install

notes
Offline mode: IOS57-64-v5918.wad file required (downloadable with NUSD) Do I need to install this and how?
Warning(s): The cIOS detected in slot 249 will be overwritten

Thank you for your patience.

Just to make this a bit clearer

Start d2x installer,

When it asks what cios to use select either 36, 236

Then it's d2x rev8

Then it's ios base 56

Then slot 249

Hey Pob3008,

"When it asks what cios to use select either 36, 236" It's not giving me this option. It just goes straight to the page where you choose (see below) after a credits like page where you Press any key to continue. Should i go into Multi-Mod Manager before and select either 36, 236 then go to d2x and make the changes then change it back to 58 afterwards? And as below in red, which REVISION should I choose?

Select cIOS to install <D2X v8>
Select base IOS i.e <57>
Select cIOS slot i.e <57>
Select cIOS Revision <21006> Other options 21, 65535
I have no idea which one to choose

I am so grateful for your time.

So don't worry about selecting 36 or 236 and leave it on 58?

it doesn't matter about which cIOS Revision I choose?

Finally, what about the notes/warning/install these wads (see below)?

notes
Offline mode: IOS56-64-v5661.wad file required (downloadable with NUSD)
Warning(s): The cIOS detected in slot 249 will be overwritten

notes
Offline mode: IOS57-64-v5918.wad file required (downloadable with NUSD)
Warning(s): The cIOS detected in slot 249 will be overwritten

Regards,

T
