Semi Bricked Wii. Can anyone give me Tips to not let it happen again?

I have self diagnosed that my blue tooth module has been fried so have ordered another one.

My wii has worked fine until my son pressed the wii update button and i got an ios 249 is a stub error.

I then reloaded the ios using dx2 cios.

Everything was ok again apart from getting any wiimote to sync.

Although the bluetooth part is not a great deal of money what precautions would you take to stop it from happening again.

I thought I had already installed PriiLoader but obviously I didn't do it correctly.

you need to boot the wii and hold the reset button...preloader will(should load) scroll to enable system hacks,from there choose your options and save
