Chapter 2 Loading Modpak files to SD card

OK, so I downloaded the the ModPack-NTSC-U.zip, CIOS-PACK-V6.zip, & Wii_Shop_Channel-v20.zip. Guide says that 4.3u doesn't need IOS Update.zip so I didn't download it. I unzipped, then dragged & dropped the files onto my SD card after formatting it, but the contents don't look like what's in the guide. I only have 3 files in my SD card: CIOS-PACK-V6.rar Folder, ModPack-NTSC-U, & Shopping Channel-NUS-v20. Inside each folder there are between 2 & 7 files & sub folders. I am using a Mac, so is there a specific way to extract the files so that I have the same file structure that's in the guide in Chapter 2?

I don't use a mac, but I use winrar and extract directly to the sd card. Can you use your unzip tool (whatever it is) to unzip directly to the sd card. If not, just open the folders and drag n drop whats inside to the root of your card.

Download Mod/cIOS Packs-->Extract-->A Folder is produced in the same location as the archive-->Double click on the folder and you will see the modding files
-->Highlight them all and copy and paste to the root of your SD Card...

OK I copied & pasted the files to my SD card. I will paste a copy of the files that are on my SD card below. My questions is this...do I need to extract the files that are located in the sub folders? For example, "apps" has 4 sub folders (ARCmod06_Offline, cboot2-MMM, HomeBrew Channel Loader, and priiloader) & those folders have 3 files in them (boot.dol, icon.png, and meta.xml. priiloader has an additional file hacks_hash.ini) Is it OK to leave the files in the sub folders or do I have to extract each individual file from each folder? Please let me know if the list below is all I need to load onto the wii.

Let me try to make this less confusing. I have 5 folders that contain files inside on my SD card:

    1- bootmii (with armboot.bin, bootmii.ini, and ppcboot.elf)
    2- Arcmod06_Offline (boot.dol, icon.png, and meta.xml)
    3- cboot2-MMM (boot.dol, icon.png, and meta.xml)
    4- HomeBrew Channel Loader (boot.dol, icon.png, and meta.xml)
    5- priiloader (boot.dol, icon.png, meta.xml, and hacks_hash.ini)

Do I need to extract the files inside these folders. or are they OK where they are. I noticed that I already have a boot.dol & hacks_hash.ini file on my SD card structure.

I appreciate the comment, but unfortunately it doesn't answer my question. I just need to know if the files (listed above) need to be extracted from the sub folders.

What I do after I download the packs.

Winrar opens, I click extract to, navigate to the sd card and double click. Then all the folders and sub folders and files inside end up on my sd card.

Read the guide again. Look for the spoiler "You should have this file structure on your sd card"

Also any more questions should be asked in the guide you are following.

Im assuming these are from the Mod Any Wii Guide....

Remember the user giving advice might be using a mac as well

    Spoiler

<--- You should notice the file structure is wrong at your end...

So yes the file structure in the extracted archive should be left as is.... IE Wads go in Wad folder, Apps go in apps folder... Anything not in a folder goes on the root of the SD card..

Ok on a Mac when you try merging the 2 it doesn't work the same as on Win 7. You get the option to overwrite or cancel. At the end of the day I think you are just removing all files from their personal folders and sticking them at the root when they shouldn't be touched.
    Try this:-

1 - Download Mod Pack and cIOS Pack.
2 - Extract to mac with Stuffit Expander.
3 - Open the folders that are extracted. You will see MD5 sum checks. Use SuperSFV to check the md5 files and make sure there are no errors.
4 - In the Mod pack folder you will see a file structure like this... Hightlight all and drag to the sd card.

5 - Now go to the cIOS pack folder and highlight everything in there apart from the wad folder and drag that to the sd card. SD Root should look like pic below

6 - Now open the Wad folder that is in the cIOS pack on your mac and highlight all of the contents in there and drag to the WAD folder on the sd card..

Look at pic below and you should see the file structure that should be on you SD card ( I have opened the wad folder to show the two merged)

PS.. The MDSummer.exe is a PC App so it's up to you if you copy it over or not but either way no harm will be done.
