    Spoiler

<--- You should notice the file structure is wrong at your end...

So yes the file structure in the extracted archive should be left as is.... IE Wads go in Wad folder, Apps go in apps folder... Anything not in a folder goes on the root of the SD card..

Ok on a Mac when you try merging the 2 it doesn't work the same as on Win 7. You get the option to overwrite or cancel. At the end of the day I think you are just removing all files from their personal folders and sticking them at the root when they shouldn't be touched.
    Try this:-

1 - Download Mod Pack and cIOS Pack.
2 - Extract to mac with Stuffit Expander.
3 - Open the folders that are extracted. You will see MD5 sum checks. Use SuperSFV to check the md5 files and make sure there are no errors.
4 - In the Mod pack folder you will see a file structure like this... Hightlight all and drag to the sd card.

5 - Now go to the cIOS pack folder and highlight everything in there apart from the wad folder and drag that to the sd card. SD Root should look like pic below

6 - Now open the Wad folder that is in the cIOS pack on your mac and highlight all of the contents in there and drag to the WAD folder on the sd card..

Look at pic below and you should see the file structure that should be on you SD card ( I have opened the wad folder to show the two merged)

PS.. The MDSummer.exe is a PC App so it's up to you if you copy it over or not but either way no harm will be done.
That's where I'm confused, because when you look at your file structure under "wads" for example, the "system menu 4.1e" file is a folder (which contains 3 files in it), but in the "softmod any wii" guide, it actually has the 3 files in the root of the SD card. This is why I believe that they have to be extracted from their folders, or subfolders. Please let me know if I'm on the right track, or if it doesn't make a difference either way. I'd rather not brick my wii before I get it softmodded

If you want to downgrade to system menu 4.1 X then you can just copy the files from the system menu folder to the WAD folder and when you install the rest of the WADS...

OK, so if I understand this correctly......I have to extract the files from the folders and/or subfolders & put them on the root of the SD card. There are 5 folders that have subfolders in them, not just the System Menu folder. That was just ONE example that I gave. Here are the other folders in question:

    1- bootmii (with armboot.bin, bootmii.ini, and ppcboot.elf)
    2- Arcmod06_Offline (boot.dol, icon.png, and meta.xml)
    3- cboot2-MMM (boot.dol, icon.png, and meta.xml)
    4- HomeBrew Channel Loader (boot.dol, icon.png, and meta.xml)
    5- priiloader (boot.dol, icon.png, meta.xml, and hacks_hash.ini)

Do I need to extract the files directly to the SD card or can they stay in the subfolder?

No the only ones you have to take out of the folder is the SM WADS and put them in the WAD folder. ( I even think you can get away without doing this because you can venture to the SM folder in MMM Wad Manager)

The last picture in my second reply to you is how the structure should look on your sd card

File/Folder structure on root of sd card

Awesome, thanks for making it clear. One last question....as far as the shopping channel update, besides the .md5 file do I drag the "channels" folder into the root, or the wad inside of it?
Actually, I re-read your last post, so I moved the .md5 over & opened the "wad" folder & dragged the "channels" folder over.

    Wad install

I installed the 3 wads for system menu 4.1u, but I can't locate "Ios update" to install the 25 wads. I'm guessing it goes hand-in-hand with the system menu update. Can anyone tell me how to navigate to the ios update OR is it easier to remove the 4.1 system menu update (since the guide says it not required)?

Don't you have another thread open on this already? And if I remember correctly you were told to make posts about the ANY Wii guide in the ANY Wii guide. To answer your question, I think you already answered it yourself when you said in the first post that you skipped the update due to being on 4.3. No, system menu and the ios update do not go hand in hand. They are two different things entirely, neither are dependent on each other.

Merged this thread with prior thread.

I didn't skip anything, I am following the guide step by step. I installed the system menu 4.1u, but couldn't find the ios update. I thought the two went hand in hand. Thanks again & I apologize for not posting in the right place. Once again, sorry for the confusion.

Didn't you answer your above question in this quote from page 1? If you were on 4.3 prior to installing the wads that downgraded you to 4.1 then you do not need to install the IOS update.

We already have answered a bunch here, so I guess might as well continue here.... In the future, please ask questions about a guide in said guide.

Yes, you're absolutely right. I didn't realize that was the same file that 4.3 users skipped. Thanks again for your help & patience dealing with a noob.
