I've been reading guides about USB HDD backups loading, and learned that backup discs run at 3X speed, original discs run at 6X, while USB backups loading speed exceeeds original discs.
So approximately how fast does USB load ?
Another question, say if a person is playing online (using backup discs) with another person (using USB HDD/original disc), will he/she experience glitches or lag in gameplay, because of different game reading speed ?

USB speed is approx 8x. And lag in online game play would be due to your internet connection/speed.
Agreed. I have proven this by loading Wiiflow from my class 4 sd card and then loading same thing from my usb hdd. Usb is blazingly fast!

Correct for the most part. A DVD can READ at about 8 MB/sec at 6x speeds, and about 4 MB/sec at 3x speeds. Modern SATA drives can transfer up to 6 GB/sec, depending on the SATA specification (SATA 1 is 1.5 GB/sec, SATA 2 is 3 GB/sec, and SATA 3 is 6 GB/sec), however, the main limiting factor in this discussion are the speeds of USB. The Wii uses the USB 2.0 specification, which has a maximum speed of 60 MB/s. So that's all that will be available to the hard drive.Quote:
