with the D2x cios in slot 249 i got the first step done but after pressing b and - it says ES_Identify not found and ios249 not pached with ES_DIVERTIFY. how can i fix this? i also don't want to continue without what it is asking me.

You need to follow the d2x Guide and install ios 236 which is a mirrored version of patched ios 36 first.
But I have abiport.
