I have an mp3 player that is 8GB but it wont format. at first I though it was incompatible but when i try to format with "HP USB DISK STORAGE FORMAT TOOL" it gives me the error "Device Media is Write-Protected" This tool works with my 1gb flash drive so could that be the problem help????

You might need to first connect the player to your PC and format in some PC format such as FAT or FAT32. Then format the drive again in WBFS format for the Wii.

Did as you said still fails.
when i try to format it on sd/usb loader 1.5 it crashes
so does clove flow

I guess it truly is write-protected. I presume you read through documentation that came with the player and looked on the manufacturer Website for info on reformatting that mp3 player or info on the nature of the write protection scheme?

wierd thing it that.. i can format it through windows and add files to it.. but yet when use the hp tool or wbfs manager it gives me write protection errors...
