It seems the rumor mill wont stop churning about Nintendo’s upcoming video game console, the Nintendo 3DS. Last week, we showed you images of a Nintendo 3DS that was apparently stolen from the factory and torn apart for the world to see.
According to this Chinese website
, the parties involved in the leaks have already hacked into the console’s firmware, granting them the ability to play ROM files on the device. This is the first step towards being able to illegally play pirated software on the console.
While we’re guessing this was nothing more than a rumor, if it were true Nintendo could be in for a fight. The company have already committed to ensuring the piracy issues that plagued the Nintendo DS will not be replicated on the 3DS. Nintendo could patch up the supposed “hack” via a firmware update, or by some other means that has yet to be announced.
