Warning to anyone wanting to unlock their wii

I just wanted to share my bad experience in the hope that no one else will be conned.

Just over a year ago I decided to unlock my Wii. After searching the internet I found a site called "My Wii downloads", that not only would provide me with the software to do so, it would also provide me with unlimited download links to Wii games.

I researched the company on the net and found no sign that it was a scam and so decided to pay them £37 for the software to unlock my Wii, and a years worth of access to their site.

On their website they claim that their software unlocks all versions of Wii, but once registered it became apparent that this was not true, as my Wii is V4.2 which can not be unlocked the same way as the older models. I tried in vain to unlock my Wii with their software so emailed them for assistance. It has now been a year since I emailed them and I still haven't heard back from them so I was pretty much resigned to the fact that I had been conned.

I thought that would be the end of it until today, when I was emailed a receipt for payment from them. It would appear that they signed me up to a subscription which will take money from my account every year for their "service". So I have now lost a further £30 to this company. I have now cancelled the subscription direct through paypal so they can't take any further money from me.

This story does have a silver lining, as I was able to succesfully unlock my Wii using the guide and software provided by this website. Not only was this completely free but they do actually have some support for you if needed!

So please, if you are thinking of unlocking your Wii then use the guides on this website and do not under any circumstances pay to use the "My Wii Downloads" website.

"Unlock"... spoken like a console lover, lol. I'm glad you discovered this wonderful site, even if after your unfortunate incident with a scam site.

I'm glad too. And people should know that just because something is being offered for free it doesn't mean that it's not a great service. I haven't had any problems at all since I unlocked my Wii and have been playing loads of games succesfully on it ever since.

Open a dispute up with paypal.. You may be able to get some money back. Its worth a try;)

Thanks but I already tried that. You can only claim if you have purchased an item that is unsatisfactory or not received. You can't claim for services received. (or services not received in this case!)

I was once scammed by a site like that (can't remember the name) I paid $50 to unlock the wii, install music watch videos, etc. They only gave me imgburn to play the wii games, limewire to download the music and divx to watch the movies.

I was so mad:mad:

I thougt I saw somewhere once that Arikado was trying to take down sites like this, he even had somewhere you could report sites like that.

It would be awesome if the site got closed down. I'm pretty sure that I'll never see my money again but it would be great to know that they wouldn't be able to scam any other people.

wish i saw this sooner!! Wii unlock plus and sean fisher got my coin. Software didnt work. Have sent numerous emails about his 100% money back gaurentee to no avail.
