    Wii System Minor Update

Nintendo has released another IOS and Shop Channel update. This adds the so-called "Korean IOSes" to all regions. This update will install the Korean IOSs (IOS4x) on Wiis from all regions, preventing TBR from working correctly. The shopping channel has also been updated to use IOS56 instead of IOS61.

Hey thanks a lot for the post, especially since the HackMii guys haven't written about this yet. If I could ask though, possibly a dumb question, but what does TBR stand for?

Ohhhh duh. Thanks for the clarification; I've never seen it abbreviated before.

On a separate note, I hate how they always wind up disabling the shop channel on every update. If they want to prevent piracy and make some money, preventing people with HBC from buying things.... is probably not the way to go.

LMAO, payment and piracy have never gone together.

Just adding a wee bit to your post richard

Nintendo has released a firmware update for the Wii that is confirmed to delete all homebrew applications. There is no new version number, it is still listed as v4.3 It may be possible to re-install all of your homebrew apps but we still do not recommend updating at this time. It has been reported that the latest version of the HackMii installer is not affected by this update.

They have also updated the DSi firmware to v1.4.1 to block flash carts in what appears to be a two-pronged attack against piracy!

WE DO NOT RECOMMEND UPDATING YOUR WII UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE!!!

Exactly. There are plenty of people who use HBC for non-piracy purposes, but Nintendo is treating them like they don't, which might very well turn them into pirates when they get access to Shopping Network cut off. Just saying, it's stupid. Also I'm not sure what logistical purpose changing the IOS has, other than giving people a reason to update.

Actually, they then turned around and released V1.4.2C like the next day after V1.4.1; you can read about it here.
