I don't know what I have to believe from this, or how it could be, but I was reading about Full Brick issues caused by the use of USB Loader GX and it seems a lot of people are affected. It's from the official Google Code, so. I thought I share it here, because it really impressed me, and worried me (although I use WiiFlow).
What do you think about it? Is it because of the newest revision? Is it because of using an NTFS formatted partition? Is it maybe because of black Wii's? Or is it just non-sense? Reply.

There is absoultley no way you can brick by loading games from USB loader......maybe if you install the wad for the channel but nothing else...Its user error for sure
I also found it kind of odd. Let's see what others have to tell about this.
Could be pretty much non-sense, but whatever.
Well thanks for mentioning it anyway. I wasn't aware the USB Loader GX project had ended, and that thread definitely seems to be the nail in the coffin, at least for now.
As far as I can read into what's going on there, the OP's "friend" seems to have crossed a number of lines they shouldn't have. Namely,
The general sentiment of the thread being that GX supposedly caused a brick in starting a game (not saving, as Dimok mentioned).Originally Posted by dimok
From my own knowledge, neither professional nor official besides being what it is, it just looks to me like someone decided to take their black Bootmii/IOS Wii and go to town using a combination of software that was not guaranteed to be safe, or to work at all. They screwed something up and paid the price for it. This looks to be a general non-issue and users of the last official GX build should not be worried about negative effects on their consoles.Originally Posted by dimok
For users looking to use the latest/greatest, realize that (according to Dimok, who you should listen to) anything above R874 is not an officially sanctioned release of the loader. Betas are called beta for a reason.
All in all I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the original poster of that issue had done something else to brick their console and neglected to mention it in their report.
Edit: And after taking one last quick glance, why am I not surprised at this? LOL

Well, my wii dont have bootmii as boot2, so I cant take any risks... I tried USB Loader GX stable version with ios249 rev17 and it is unstable sometimes. Black screen on some games that wiiflow runs with no problem and general freezes on the main screen. After I read the topic in google codes about the full brick I gave up USB Loader. Right now Im only using wiiflow 2.1.
hey is tis stall happen i know people have bricks useing usb loader gx but maybe thay are doing something thay should not to do. because thaythe issueIssue 1658 has been deleted.

Sounds like a cover-up to me! I wonder if the person who reported it has been offed yet.Issue 1658 has been deleted.

I believe GX has reached the end already in July 2010. Don't think a new revision will be released, and if so, they have a whole lot to fix, lol. What a mess that loader is.
