    Wii System Menu 4.3x Released!

Nintendo has finally released their long awaited update. This update, 4.3 is yet another attempt at stopping piracy. I don't currently have the details on what it runs but if someone can run a SysCheck, please do post it.

    Wii Menu 4.3
    Unauthorized Modifications
Because unauthorized channels or firmware may impair game play or the Wii console, updating to Wii Menu version 4.3 will check for and automatically remove such unauthorized files. In addition, there are some behind the scenes enhancements that do not affect any prominently-used features or menus but will improve system performance.

If you are seeing "Error:004," please click here.

I'm trying to get someone to test it out and try to see what's working and what's not.

We have a thread for the scope of 4.3 and it's shortcomings, as well as prospective workaround and updates here: http://www.wiihacks.com/wiihacks-new...8-4-3-out.html

Again thank KiraX [as well as everyone who helps to contribute] to this new firmware. Your participation is noted and welcomed.

I'm... guessing it's unsafe to upgrade from a custom IOS...

Ever since I joined this site, it has always been the advice to avoid updating the system menu whenever possible, and I'm pretty sure that has not changed, especially now.

Yeah, I only joined in May but I did enough reading on these forums to know that it's never good to update as soon as an update is offered (would say required, but this update is pretty optional, unlike Xbox 360 system updates)
Edit: Sorry for the Vibrant ad...

No system menu is required, but some are easier to work with in terms of allowing for better features and options. 4.1 is what seems to work the best for softmod and additional features from Nintendo. Everything after that was released to stop modding.

You can scream `till you`re blue in the face "DO NOT UPDATE", but sadly there are some who just don`t listen.
