This sort of crap irritates me as I don't use my Wii for playing ANY pirated Wii games. I have loaded emulators onto it and any Wii games are BOUGHT.

Don't be too quick to judge. Some of us want to use backup DVDs and USB instead of risking their legally owned game discs with their kids. Sure some are pirates but that's got nothing to do with you.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

I pirate PLENTY of games on other systems and if I had kids, I'd use USB for backing up my Wii games for sure. I just get annoyed when legit games I buy want to give me problems just because my system is softmodded (luckily I've had no problems since I keep my IOSes up to date).

Not judging at all! Sorry if that is how it came across because I'm a major pirate....I just promised my wife the Wii would be my one legit system (though I still have the all Wiiware and VC stuff, so I'm not totally clean )

I understand. Thought you were getting on your high horse about something. That's the trouble with the written word, it os often hard to convey the meaning of your words.

I enjoy that I don't have to risk my game discs and can still play the games, but I don't pirate. The fact that The Big N would even do this just shows that they (along with S0ny and M$) don't care about or listen to their customer base. They expect everyone to be mindless drones and just feed off of what they allow us to have. Don't be creative or intelligent. Free thinkers are dangerous. Just continue to spend all of your money on crappy games that are stored on one of the worst designed mediums ever. "You breathed on your brand new game wrong and now it has a tiny scratch and won't play? Too bad, spend another $50+." "You installed the 4.2 update from us on your virgin Wii that's not under warranty, and now your Wii is bricked? Oh that doesn't happen, and even if it did, you will have to pay us $75 to fix it. But it's not our fault, you must have done something wrong or had mods on it." "Oh, you bought your Wii a Year and 3 days ago? I'm sorry, we have no confidence in our product to last more than a year or so, so we only warranty it for a year. So you'll have to pay." I could go on, but I'm ranting so I'll quit. It's just so pathetic!

i just burned raquet sport for the wii and i can confirm that it does ask for you to update it. I couldn't get an answer if it would mess up the chipped wii or not so i risked it. The wii updated and the burnt game now works as well as the older games I have burnt. So for anyone that is wondering, this game is safe.

Well, Idk about anyone else in here but as soon as i hear about a new protection I get curious and just have to find a way to get a burnt copy working. I have a 4.2u wasabi v3 w/ 3.0 firmware. I couldn't care less about rugby truth be told. It's a healthy/unhealthy (depending on your school of thought) addiction i have to circumventing copy protection and keeping up to date with it's newest forms. Though I'm not a developer of any type of cracking and never pretend to be. I simply and thoroughly enjoy reading and learning and applying methods that beat the latest and greatest methods of copy protection. In short, it's a hobby. There's something about having access to forbidden knowledge that's truly intriguing, and I love reading these boards. Sometimes the game is the act of manipulating the hardware and software to do what you want them to for some of us and not playing the actual game itself. It becomes it's own sport. I know I'm crazy by some people's standards but I have fun being this way. I hope there are others who enjoy watching the sport of the hack unfold here and am anxiously awaiting a definitive answer and explanation of what exactly nintendo has cooked up and what it means for the modchip community here @ wiihacks.
