This is what was included in the readme

    Edit-

Sorry to get your hopes up, but just at it says at the top of the post - A port of MPlayer for the Nintendo Wii. This function exactly like MPlayer CE. I'm sure there are some hidden upgrades that you cannot see, just have to play around with it. Also, remove MPlayer CE from your SD card, then copy miiplayer to your SD card and rename it mplayer_ce, it should then work.

I'm curious to see this, too. Just by looks of the screen shot, I don't think it will best the Mplayer CE that we already have. Who knows, have to try it out and see.

Just loaded it onto my sd opened it and it opens mplayer. If I am wrong Please correct me but I am guessing it is not a new one but a facelift of the old one. Otherwise it wouldnt be bringing up code from another dol/wad. Correct?

Yeah if you go into the apps folder all the stuff you see when you open mplayer is there. Open List_ext or input and they are Identical. Like I said its not a new program its a face lift on an old one.

I wouldn<t quite call it a face lift, it looks exactly the same.

True. Mine actually just brought up the mplayer I always use. Same version and everything.

I had the same problems as you, so I changed the name of the folder.

I removed the MPlayer CE from my SD card first, then moved the miiPlayer folder to my SD card. Then, I renamed the miiPlayer folder to mplayer_ce and this version boots up.

I was not able to play an XVID movie from USB memory stick, but I didn't test it with MPlayer CE 0.76 first. I was able to get Youtube to work though.

I was able to get a retail DVD movie to play, but installing the DVD before starting the app. I also went into the options menu and changed the aspect ratio to match my tv.

I wonder what the changes in this port of mplayer are and if it's any better than MPlayer CE?

I was using the cIOS usb 2.0 from the mplayer_ce web page, that installs hermes v2 IOS202 as IOS36 merged with IOS60. I then installed Hermes v5 IOS202 with a base of IOS60, holy fudge, the buffer is almost non-existant for a XVID movie, and just a matter of seconds to load a video from Youtube. I would definetally install Hermes IOS202 v5, if you don't all ready have it installed.
