as you have no idea what you are doing, or what this is all about, i would recommend you stay well away until some of the more experienced members have tried it and reported what it like, especially after the disaster of the last 2!

If you followed the softmod guide properly, then you should have cIOS38 rev14 installed, which is all you really need at the minute.

By all means try rev17, its installed in exactly the same way (check the softmod guide linked in my sig). But be warned that rev17 could be useless!

Just keep in mind folks, if you start having wierd problems. reinstall the old cios first before asking questions about what is wrong with your wii.

Right after I installed rev17 my wiimote kept losing connection, I though there was something wrong with the cIOS. New batteries fixed that problem.

I installed rev 17 earlier today. Used the online installer no wad available.
I have checked priiloader, USB Loader GX, Internet channel.
So far so good, no probs.
I don't have any DL games so I can't check that.

I ripped NSMB from retail disc and this cIOS rev17 will boot the game in WiiFlow 1.1, so that part of it works, I wonder how the dual layer support is?

    My review so far

I took a small sample of games from different regions and loaded them using the methods I have available, then tested each of the emulators I have installed. Everything worked. These are just my results and yours may be different.

If you're still new to softmodding, then give it some time before you decide to change revisions: Rev14 is still proven to be reliable and stable, and that doesn't change just because a new revision is out.

Shop Channel, Mii Channel, Forecast Channel - Works

    Wiiflow V1.1 R25
SSBB (NTSC-U) - Mario/Bowser intro video played and finished with no crash. Made it past level 1 on a new game in Subspace Emmissary mode and loaded to the game map screen without crashing. Loaded and watched the video for level 2, started play on level 2 before exiting to main menu.
NSMB (PAL) - Works (Self-patched version, tested unpatched on rev16 as working)
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom (NTSC-J) - Works

    USB Loader GX R874
    SSBB (NTSC-U) - Mario/Bowser, Subspace Emmissary, works
    NSMB (PAL) - Works
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom (NTSC-J) - Works

    Direct Channel Forwarders
    SSBB (NTSC-U) - Works
    NSMB (PAL) - Works
    Tatsunoko vs. Capcom (NTSC-J)- Works

    Emulators (tested 1 game each)
    VBAgx - Works
    FCEUgx - Works
    GenPlus - Works
    SNES9xgx - Works

These were all tested back-to-back over an hour or so with no reloads, no black screens, and no reboots. I installed Rev17 as a Wad Installation since there have been so many positive reports under network installs.

While writing this up I tried downloading 2 new covers in GX without success. I get locked at 0% on the downloading covers window and have to hard reset. Wiiflow appears to be trying to download, but at a snails pace, which makes me think this is a website related issue. All existing covers load fine. The wiitdb.com site looks like it got changed around a bit and is running unusually slow right now, and Wiiflow finished it's download, so I assume this was the cause.
