More like a Radeon 5970 but that might was well melt the Wii case from the heat.

I have to disagree completely with that statement to be honest. I have the Wii for the family entertainment, and having a bobble-headed Mii throwing a Ball down the bowling lane is fun. Changing the character will not make the game any better or any more interesting.

Take Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicals Echoes of Time for instance. You start th game and the screen layout is awful with two screens in the middle and a moving Bitmap wallpaper behind. It doesn't have the Mii characters in the game, but the overall feel is just pants.
The HD version will pave the way for Nintendo to invest heaily into the more hard-core games to bring in the pure gamers. This will allow them to have the family console and still utilise it as a proper gamers console too.
All the major consoles are lacking the happy medium, and they are all trying to achieve it in one way or another.
The Mii characters are great, and it really does make the family gaming better. But better games are needed rather than just placing the Nintendo Rubber Stam on any game that applys for it without any consideration.
Nintendo should introuduce a more vigourous seal of approval for the games released with the HD Wii in mind. This will give Nintendo a big edge.
I just want to kill some HD vampires in a thrilling HD environment and be able to see what the shape of its head is, AND use my zapper to do it. Can I?
You can't just do it Messie ... You can FEEL it too. And do it Twice over! :P
show me where? cos all the zombies of wii are bloody pixelated. i want an equal to directX11 game on a console with wii controls !!!!
Intel shouldn't even be in the GPU business, leave that to Nvidia, ATI and some others. I hope Nintendo chooses nvidia for their next console because nvidia shows a lot of promise, especially with their tegra chip in the Zune HD. ATI has really disappointed me, for the fact that their graphics card in the Wii can't do native 720p. It may be because of the lack of drivers (take a look at any phone with the Qualcomm 72xx series with ATI's GPU) or that Nintendo doesn't seem to care for better graphics with the new user/fanbase. But no one except ATI or Nintendo really know the true capabilities of the graphics card. I do have some hope though for the unreleased titles that are known to be the pinnacle of their generation's consoles in Nintendo, such as F-Zero, Starfox, Zelda. If you remember the last three generations, these games pushed the limits of the console they were on. Example: Starfox for SNES, and Starfox Assault for GC, Zelda Majora's mask for N64, F-Zero for the Gamecube.
I'm predicting we still have two full years before the next Nintendo console. The first two, maybe three quarters of the year they'll just come out with junk (sorry, but that's what I think of the games coming out, I'm just picky) with Mario Galaxy 2, which I have no interest in, then in the third or fourth quarter they'll finally release a good game such as the titles I mentioned above, possibly with native 720p playback, which IS possible. 2011 they'll release the rest of the major titles, hopefully Zelda before 2011, Metroid, Starfox, F-Zero. Their last marketing survival tactic for the Wii will be to simply lower the price of the console down to $99, which will occur in 2011 from $150 that they could do later this year. By lowering the price of the console, that will be good enough to maintain strong sales even if Natal or PS3's new controller become a huge success. Oh and the controller too. The Wiimote alone is not worth $40, and it definitely won't be worth that much in a year, so hopefully the price of that is dropped simply to compete with Sony and Microsoft.
The answer is simple, but requires some inginuity for now.
Step 1) Get a PS3 and Resident Evil 5
Step 2) Use your Wii Remote to *pretend* to shoot
Step 3) Actually have someone behind you mimic your movements and use the PS3 controler to shoot the Zombie you was pointing your Wii Remote at.
Step 4) When hit, get the other guy to kick you in the leg.
And there you go. HD Zombie killing you can feel with a WiiMote lol
Next year we will see Nintendo revealing their new Christmas Tactic ... Wii's availible in all the same colours as the DS / DSi's

HD mario, SSBB, etc would look so much nicer on the eye, not to mention all the other games with much higher-def textures AND the ability to watch blu-rays and other HD content (which in itself needs a pretty meaty gfx processor).
I would vote nVidia too, I have always used their gfx cards in my PCs and they have never let me down. Don't forget Nintendo not only need to match the 360 and PS3, but overtake them to compete with the next batch from ms and sony.
