I saw this on IGN a few days ago and it got me wondering, my first thought seeing the screens and videos was that it looked like a fan made game. After much research I found that it is indeed a real Nintendo made game never before released outside Japan and currently is not available even there. To spare this from being a super long post I'll just tell you all to google BS-X or Satellaview which is a relatively obscure add-on for the Super Famicom. One of the games released for it is, as I've to titled the thread, BS The Legend of Zelda: The Ancient Stone Tablets.

Here is a link to IGNs story about it:

A Link to the Past's Long Lost Sequel

Now being that we here at WiiHacks do not support piracy I, just like IGN, will not be detailing where to get the game or how to use it...but I will say it is possible to play the game via emulation.

So how many people out there never heard of this? I think it looks like an great game and hope Nintendo one day releases it on the Virtual Console (as unlikely as that is).

That's a fun peripheral. I've done papers on various video game add-ons and other forms of connectivity over the years. This one is one of my favorites. I've never played the game in question, but did sound interesting.Another similar peripheral that I liked researching was the PlayCable for the Intellivision. Cable Companies would stream a looping cycle of 8-10 games, switching out the games played each month. Each game was about 8k - 16k in size, so looping through 10 games didn't take long and you could eventually play what you wanted to if you waited long enough. Some kids found that having the PlayCable was like having a dev kit and ended up making the Bump & Jump port. (I think that's how that story went). PlayCable was decommissioned shortly afterwards so others wouldn't figure out that little trick.

I know I've seen this before, never played it though. I think it'd be possible to do a WAD injection over the original VC game, might take a shot at it later.

You'll need 4 donor wads for that since the game was released in 4 separate chapters spanning a period of 4 weeks. Let me know if it works

Sure thing, I'll go at it after I complete my first brawl hack, which just needs a few finishing touches, a battle portrait, and a character select screen portrait.

Hmm, more reading and I've discovered there is a "BS Zelda" which is essentially a SNES remake of the original NES Zelda. It is also a Satellaview game...damn Nintendo never publishing these games for North America.
