Wii U Automatically Updates...even without permission.

Maybe this is old news but it's still extremely important that all Wii U owners know this, according to an article I read (won't post the link cause outside links aren't allowed) your Wii U will update and there's nothing you can to do stop it (unless you disable it's Internet connection.

If ever a Priiloader type program was needed for Wii U it is definitely a priority I'd say.

Just a word of warning, if you ever notice your Wii U updating DO NOT TURN OFF OR UNPLUG IT, you will kill it if you do.

That's true, it downloads in the background, but you don't have to apply the update.
My Wii U ask me 3 times before I applied the update. :)

Really? So once it's done you can install it at your own leisure or just completely ignore it? Well that's something the article didn't say lol.

My Wii U was better for the update anyhow, but it would be good to have a Wii U priiloader in the future. :)

Yep, one thing that I noticed with Mario Bros. It started doing an update (game update vs system update) but it gave you the option to "Launch Title" (ie, play the game) and apply the update the next time you started the game.

We'll have to see what the future holds for the Wii U with updates. A few more systems updates should give everyone a greater understanding for how it operates.

Like i posted somewhere else, even if you say cancel the system update, it downloads in stealth mode (which is a good thing) BUT when the DL is ready, it doesn't ask you if you want it or not! It just goes for it, and the only option at hand is to click "continue".

Yes, this will make things hard for people hoping to Softmod cause, knowing the big N, any updates will either remove Softmods or brick the system.


*note, Wii U is not softmod-able yet, I'm being hypothetical.

If I had to guess, I would say that the people working on the WiiU won't release the softmod until they figure our how to block updates. From what I've heard, there is a team of more than 20 people working on the WiiU, so it probably won't be too awfully long.

I'm so impatient lol, I want to retire my old Wii but I won't do so till my Wii U can do everything the old Wii does (so here's hoping teudj ports Devolution to Wii U first chance he gets:))
