i remember the game cube that system was a tank! it was virtualy indestructable. that has been one thing about nintendo devices i have liked they are like apple -really strong hardware. it may not be the most advanced, but it is really stable.

The WiiU really is awesome, I just wish it could play GameCube games...I don't want to unhook my old Wii cause of the ease of USB Loading Wii & GC games. I wouldn't mind so much if the WiiU could read GC discs as I have all my Wii & GC games that on my HDD in retail discs as well. It just isn't practice for me to pull out my old GC or Wii anytime I want to play a game for that system when I have many many more games for them and only 1 WiiU game right now...so for now the WiiU gets boxed after each use till either of the following scenarios:

    A) I have enough room for my Wii & WiiU to be setup (maybe my 360 too lol)

    B) WiiU can be softmodded allowing it to play GC games via HDD (with Emulated memory cards of course, I would hate to not be able to import my saves)

    C) I beat all my GameCube and Wii games, get bored of them and decided it's time to retire the Wii. Seeing as I keep finding old classics (and get recommendations too) I don't see this happening for a while.

i have heard that the wii U is able to use usb drives nativily, is there any word as to if they let us copy the games directly to disk? or would that be only for the purchased downloads from the wiiware stuff?

That would just ease piracy, which is what Nintendo is trying so hard to prevent.

Yes, purchased downloads and whatnot. The biggest factor for using a USB hard drive with a Wii U is for the full game downloads. You will either be able to purchase the game via a disc, or download the game directly to the Wii U. I only wish you could purchase the game AND download it directly to storage as well (much like they do with BD movies these says...). I really like the idea of downloading and playing games without discs, but, I'm also a stickler for having something tangible in hand to show for my $60. Knock $20 off that price and I'd be a little more tempted...

They knew that even 32 GB (let alone 8 GB) of onboard memory wouldn't be enough to support this going into the future, so adding the ability to add on your own storage via USB was the best way to go for the users, as it allows us to add non-proprietary storage to the Wii U.

Nintendo was way before Micro$oft or $ony back in the Genesis Console Wars. Xbox has been in the market for 10 years too.

Nintendo is just better because, well, it's good quality, nostalgic memory lane simple operating system fun games on wii.

Not to mention that it's so easy to hack.
Technically, I think Nintendo's Wii is based on Unix, but don't quote me on that.

People nowadays will buy a Wii because
    a) It's simple
    b) It's family friendly while Xbox and PS3 has been placed under an anti-social light
    c) It's Nintendo, Japanese, Pioneer of the best games
    d) Tons of Accesories
    e) Nice, Clever Marketting
    f) More people play on PC than console. Laptop can transport the games anywhere.
    g) Want to revisit memory lane, fell in love with a Wii like me (Pun also intended as I consider myself gay)
    h) Great Customer Support
    i) Hackable
    j) Innovative, Smart
    k) OMG Zelda

But then again nothing in this world is black and white. What I may enjoy others may not enjoy. So it all goes down to you, the individual. Play what you want to play. If you are Microsoft Fan, go for it. If you are a Sony guy, awesome. If you are a Nintendo guy, well done.

....No one? No one wants to comment on that hugely misleading headline?

    Fine I'll do it

Wii U Launch More Successful Than Launches Of Xbox 360 And PS3

That headline is false, and is not what is stated in the article.

Apparently your capacity for comprehending detail is lacking; did you even bother checking the source article cited from the story's source on page 1?
