Sorry if I posted this in the Wii U section, but I couldn't think of a more appropriate section to post this.
Nintendo are going to launch a new very compact Wii called the Wii Mini. The release is slated to be on November 7. However, It's still a rumour.

The Wii Mini has a MSRP of $99.99 and will be available December 7th (not November 7th). Most everything is speculation at this point, but what I'm confused about is the lack of Wifi and it's rumored that the Wii Mini has NO internet capability whatsoever (even with a USB adapter). I can't really put too much stock in that claim, since that would severely limit that capabilities of the system and titles available, as well as any generation of revenues from WiiWare and VC titles. Also, if that we true, it would mean no updates. (which implies that v4.3 is here to stay for good).
I know it's been hinted that the Wii U's Wii Mode may be in "read-only" format to prevent hacking, but if there is no internet connectivity and no updates, then the Wii Mini may be going that route as well. We'll just have to wait and see. I can't see this selling well aside from it's novelity, especially considering that the current Wii's were going to $89 on Black Friday (at Wally World and online).

Its expected to release only in canada, where coincidentally is the WiiHacks HQ. Hope a staff can get a unit and share its intracacies with us.

That looks pretty cool, wonder if any of the disc exploits like Smash Stack would work on it.
I actually kind of want one of those...I just read it's a top loader instead of slot loader like the current Wii and WiiU. I like top loaders better and personally don't see why Nintendo went with a slot loader to begin with instead of using a top loader like GameCube had or at least a front loader via a pop out tray like Xbox 360...are Canadian Wii's NTSC?
