Nintendo has confirmed plans to allow Wii U users to transfer their Wii Virtual Console purchases and Wii game saves to its new, backwards compatible console.
You will have an individual account based system. Each member of your family might have their own account," Moffitt said.We are readying the system, yes, to transfer saves and everything you've bought," said Katsuya Eguchi, designer and manager at Nintendo EAD.
Although the company didn't reveal any further details, comments made by Nintendo's EVP of sales and marketing Scott Moffitt in an interview with ABC could be an indication of the route Nintendo will take.
It's likely previously purchased content will be locked to user accounts similar to the setup used by Microsoft on Xbox Live profiles.
Does anyone know how this is going to work? Am I not going to be able to pass on my legally purchased games since my wii is hacked?
In sure it can still be done. We'll just have to wait and see

I wonder if music DLC (from guitar hero and so on games) would be also transferable...
Well if they're not you can always Mail Nintendo of America and they'll send you a complimentary pair of finger-less gloves.
