    Question about WAD files

    Hi.

I successfully modded my vWii, but as instructed, have not gone any further such as installing additional wad files, as there is no brick protection yet. I was wondering, I have some channels on my old Wii that were installed as wads originally, and I would like to be able to use those on the Wii U. Unfortunately, simply moving/copying them to an SD Card didn't work, the vWii says "this can't be played on this Wii." Is there a way to get around this? I'm definitely afraid to just install the wad on the vWii because even though it's not modifying any IOS or cIOS, I don't want to be banner bricked either, obviously.

The one in particular is Majora's Mask VC. I know WiiHacks is anti-piracy, but I have actually purchased it on the Wii, but I don't want to use the system transfer tool, as I still want it playable on the Wii as well, and don't want to re-buy it on the Wii U.

Actually I guess I could use the tool then just install the Wad on my original Wii. I hadn't thought of that until just now.

I was thinking of doing this: taking my purchased digital content that was transferred to Wii U and installing it back on my Wii since the transfer tool deleted the content.

I initially did a NAND restore on my Wii to get stuff back but the kids keep accessing the Wii shop channel which then deletes it all again. They do this because they try to watch Netflix and it prompts to update.

Whats the best way besides a NAND restore to move my vc and digital purchases back to my Wii?

The theory goes, if you've got a Wii-U and want to port your purchases from the Wii, it's a one-way street. We're not generally gonna advocate what you're asking. As to updating --- are you speaking of the Shop Channel or the Netflix app itself --- and on the Wii, or Wii-U? There may be a way to deal with that depending on your answer (which in turn, may alleviate the other thing as a byproduct).

The Netflix app asks to update when I restore my old Nand to the Wii which then launches the shop channel which then re-deletes all my transferred content.....maybe I will just

    1. backup my current saves
    2. Restore my old Nand
    3. restore my current saves and
    4. delete the netflix channel and move the shop channel to the last page

Whats the best way to handle all my Wii saves in bulk? Save Game Manager GX?

I found an easy way to accomplish what I was trying to do.

There is a hombrew called Bluedump whose latest form is YABM (yet another bluedump mod). With this app I was able to take anything on my vWii and pack it as an unsigned wad that I then used WiiMods Wad manager to install on my old wii.

Works great. For some reason Multimod manager was failing to install wads initially so I had to use Wiimod. I could right up a simple tutorial possibly of how to do it but I am not sure if doing this falls in to piracy or not...technically speaking I don't think it does anymore than being able to backup a wii game and playing it on two different consoles.

This actually works better than doing a Nand restore because I can fake sign my games so I don't have to worry about the shopping channel checking and deleting them in the future. I can have all my digital content back and still access the shopping channel.
