    Wii-U and softmod?

Hey, how is the security on wii-U compared to wii?

Do you think it will be just as easy to hack/softmod like it was with wii?

Ir can this take a while like it is with 3ds and softmods?

Aside from the vWii Softmod there doesn't appear to be much, if any, progress on a Wii U mode Softmod. We would all love it if the Wii U could be fully softmodded and maybe someday that will happen, but for now it's not possible.

From what I've read Wii U has much better security than the old Wii did so it will be quite a time consuming effort if it even happens.

Btw, out of your link, could i be loading gamecube games from an external hdd on the wii U?

And if i can, how would i play the gamecube game since i already got a cheap gamestop gamecube controller i wanna use on my wii. (yes, i have still not managed to launch any gamecube game from my wii. Neither through the sdcard nor hdd. Allways black screen or fatal error or something)

Yes, you can USB load GameCube games on the Wii U via Wii mode. But you'll still need an older GameCube compatible Wii to do it. You can play the games with a Classic Controller plugged into a WiiMote, a PS3 controller via USB or Bluetooth, or a Wii U Pro Controller.

There is an app called Nintendont that is currently in development and has an alpha release out there that supposedly only works with Wind Waker, but it is runs GameCube games and allows for other controllers to be used, including PS3 controllers.

When this app is ready for prime time, this will likely be the best method for running GameCube games on a vWii.

I think he's referring to Devolution, which will require the Wii to validate the image. I've never used that either, so can 't speak much to it.

About 6 months ago the wii key team announced they had broken the Wii U security. They are working on a hardware device that will allow you to backup and play Wii U games. Nothing has been released as of yet.

Around 3 months ago they announced they were having a setback with one of the components of their device and were trying to find alternatives. This was the last update they provided.

These guys do have a good reputation so you can be pretty confident this news is not simply made up. In the past these types of devices have opened the door for discovery of software exploits, but as of now there is nothing other than modding the Wii functions of the Wii U.
