Damaged Screenpad already

Well it was inevitable, the dog's tail knocked it off the side table, dropped about 2 1/2 feet and got this. What the hell, my kids have literally used their DSI Xls as hockey pucks and nothing has happened to them. I babied this controller to no end, and now broken :041:

$105 USD to repair, Nintendo refused to quote a new one to me, said not available. I told them I was not pleased with the durability, and they just gave the canned "sorry but" speech. Attachment 4407

That's about as bad as my DS. I should probably be getting a screen protector for my GamePad.

I'd crack that sucker apart and see if it's something that can be repaired yourself. Grab the part number off of the screen and hit up Digikey. Nintendo must have anticipated the need to make it easy for them alone to repair them.....
