    Updating my Wii U (w/softmod)

So I just recently acquired a Wii U and it has the latest update and before this, my wii was softmodded so that I could play backups. Out of foolishness I softmodded my Wii U (vWii specifically) and was able to get Wiiflow to work so that I could play my backups on my Wii U. I understand that the Wii U will be getting another big update sometime this spring to fix up a lot of things on the Wii U side of the software and I would really like to update when that time comes but am I screwed because of the softmodding I already did to my Wii U? Is there anyway to unsoftmod my Wii U or is it okay to update because its on the vWii side of the Wii U? Thanks in advance for any help!

I just did mine today and I will update in the future...Most likely like the old wii just re-do the mod.

I'm doing the same thing with my Wii U that I did with my Wii.

As long as it's under waranty, i'm not touching it. Then after that, still leaving it along for at least a year.

I've had to send my Wii in for repair 5 times (two of which was out of warranty and I had to pay for the repair).

I think the vWii and Wii U mode are two separate things, but DON'T quote that because I really am not 100% sure this is just based on a hear say thing around these forums. I hope that this is the case though, I just hope we can crack boot2 for Wii U because I would love to Boot2 the Wii U instead so I CAN update it normally and trial new hacks with no fear.

I don't have to send mine back to Nintendo for warranty . because I brought mine from Harvey Norman and used the Extended product care service making the Wii U on the spot replaceable for any faults over the course of 3 years they don't check the content as I took my Nintendo Land game back and they just got a new out of a new box and swapped it over for me the same would apply for my console or at least I would not have to pay a cent for the repairs if it did get sent back as I already paid to cover it for accidental damage or otherwise. I would assume it would just get replaced from a new boxed version as well, I could be wrong though I didn't get the warranty extended with this in mind so who knows. I decided I won't hack the console at least until completely stable guides come out for doing so and I am only going to hack the Wii U mode once its up to par with old Wii hacks assuming I can still update it safely somehow as I swear its going to be a nightmare because of automatic game updates on top of Nintendo system updates I really do have a feeling that this console is going to have a long life worth of updates for things other than anti hack hotfixes in which case if we are still doing things like we have in the past it will be a freaking ass to maintain.

Personally we need a better system for hacking this console IMO the new method would need to be reversible easily and be modular first starting for ways to unlock deep level NAND access so that we can duplicate the system as Boot2 with the extra storage space on the Wii U I don't see why anybody would have it hacked without boot2 method or a better method because space is not a relevant factor anymore. Though I am sure the scene is trying hard to make the process of hacking and upgrading or downgrading much safer this time a round at least I hope they are. Speaking of hacking, does anybody know what revisions of the Wii U would likely support boot2 installs I got mine just after Xmas early Jan. On the same note as Boot2 does anybody know if it would likely be possible to Boot2 vWii at some later stage? This question has alluded me because the Wii was not a virtual system but the vWii is and I am not sure if things install the same way for it or not I mean Boot2 may not even exist for vWii or Wii U mode this time around which would be a shame.
