Run Games from Your SD Card

I came across this video on another Wii U hacking site apparently this is working method to boot games that can be moved to USB Storage devices however this detected USB device is an SD Card inserted into a SD to USB adapter which might be a cheaper and cost effective method to get more storage for some of you. I can't confirm if this works or not but maybe some of you can.

Nana Assualt is an eShop game which can easily be moved to and played from an external device. It does not mean he hacked his Wii U...maybe I'm just a skeptic though.

That is on the same line as what I said

except I was referring to the USB device running an SD card rather then a HDD or SSD enclosure. I also never mentioned anything about hacking the Wii U to make it work, I don't even think the guy in the video did. The reason I posted this was because as far as I am aware you cannot move games to a SD/SDHC card and run them like you could on the Wii even on the Wii it was limited to Virtual or Shop downloads but inserting the SD card into an adapter that is USB according to the video appears to be a workaround, which as I said might be a more viable option for those with the 8gb Wii U or who don't want too splash out on an external HDD.

Some people might enjoy this option as way to save desk space by using a 32gb or larger SD card instead of an external HDD considering an adapter for SD to USB is about as big as a mini thumb drive.

I'm not looking to make start an argument, just making a comment. I'll try tomorrow on my Wii U but I'm pretty sure this is just a basic built in feature.

Neither am I , I just thought maybe I gave you the wrong impression. Right now am I just discussing about this with you.

Now I am not saying this is NEW news as Nintendo did say you could use an SD card as an external storage device via USB but I thought some people may not know about it and why not share. I don't know if this could be exploited later on down the track or if it will work out of the box like this with any title that you can move to external storage, but sharing is caring and if you can try and see what you can get it to load great.

I mean technically the Wii U has no idea if the external Usb device is a SD card, an external HDD, or a USB floppy disk drive "hmm that last one could be interesting to try lol" so all I am saying is that it is probably possible and it is not a bad solution if you want to save space on the desk or get more space on the cheap.

I really hope it gets exploited lol, I want to hack my Wii U ASAP.

I've been working on a little project for USB Loader GX (just a little hex editing to spruce up the banner images for GameCube games, nothing complex) on Wii but I can take a little time out tomorrow and try this out. See if it works like it did with the old Wii. I have a spare USB device I can format with my Wii U, so after I see it works I'll post back. I'm 90% sure Nintendo confirmed this about the same time they confirmed external storage device support but again, it'll be good to test it myself.
