    IOS236 Installer for vWii

damysteryman has updated its special version of the IOS 236 Installer for vWii. This version of the IOS patches 36 now with the latest patches vWii so that programs such as the FS Toolbox should no longer issue the error -1029.

The IOS 236 is a copy of a patched IOS 36, which allows even programs without support HW_AHBPROT gain root privileges.

    damysteryman:
Also, in its iospatch.c, I have added another on-the-fly IOS patch I made a short while back that actually fixes error -1029 when installing wads (no need to use IOS base 36 or 38 anymore, 58 works fine for pretty much everything now, only downside is that you cannot install wads that use korean common key, but nobody really seems to install any of those anyway).
    To Install:

You'll need to dump IOS36-64-v3864.wad from your vWii and put it on the root of the SD card. You can do so with a tool called Blue Dump. As it cannot be downloaded from NUS.

Update: As of version 8, you no longer need to dump IOS36!

Download IOS236 Installer v8 for vWii
    Source- GBAtemp

NOTE: This version of the IOS236 Installer should only be used on vWii

Thanks for this info! IOS236 installed just fine for my vwii thru homebrew channel.

Has anyone else here had success loading bluedump to extract IOS's 56, 57 and 58? Blue dump fails and returns with an error screen showing a mem dump of some kind and kicks me back to homebrew channel.

Before anyone asks I do have IOS36-64-v3864.wad already installed.

Any advice will be appreciated thank you.

No idea what you are talking about. All this does is install IOS236. You dont need anything on the root of the SD card.
