Emulators on Wii U Oldie but newbie here lol.

    Hi,

Sorry for posting here but i'm a little confused. I read we can use our emulators on the wii flow and i was reading in the SNES area it says you need "You will also need to install IOS58 - Download" .

I read somewhere it says do not install any IOS onto the wii U but only CIOS.

So are the emulators confirmed? Can we use SNES 9x etc in the wii homebrew menu?

Thats all i'm looking for and help if possible.

After doing the wii u mod, do i need to install the seperate IOS's for the emulators? Will it brick the Wii U?

Also do i just download them from the emulator section, and place in "Apps" folder on my sd card? And of course add my roms.

    THanks

First off, you definitely don't want to be randomly installing any IOS (cIOS or otherwise) onto a Wii U. There is no brick protection, so if you mess something up and destroy the vWii, there is no turning back.

In a normal modded Wii from Softmod any Wii guide, you will have IOS58 installed, so that won't be an issue. I don't know what a modded vWii looks like, but if you want to post a syscheck so we can see what it looks like, we can tell you if you have a 58 installed or not.

Directions on how to generate and post a syscheck are linked in my signature. Go ahead and post it as a reply to this thread.

Ok. Ya my normal modded wii runs everything fine. I have to finish my WiiU mod as i'm missing my nunchuck right now and of course lego batman needs the nunchuck to move .

Ok i'll look into the system check as soon as I can.

    Spoiler

So i checked the downloads and alot of them are channel installers as the forwarder. I'm going to just try the snes one and NES one and see what happens

I see IOS58 there so no worries i think.

Ok so i'll try to keep reading but Everything worked good except 2 things.

N64 Emulator and PSX Emulator my controller DC's both times and wont reconnect. I'll try checking the forum but if you know in the meantime would be great Thanks

Please don't multi-post. If you have additional information to give and no one has replied in 24 hours, edit your last post instead.

Your syscheck looks like you have no cIOSs installed. you have a 236, and a few in a range that isn't normal, but all the other normal ones don't exist.

I would go through the vWii guide again starting with the place after you've installed HBC (I think it's installing cIOS) and go from there.

When done, see if things work. If not, post a new syscheck (and instead, use the b19 syscheck app found in the syscheck guide) and we'll have another look.

Links to both guides are in my signature.

I took this one from the excel system check.

    Spoiler

Hmm very strange. Well i can still run all my homebrew but havent tried a backup yet as I have none right now. My old wii is in storage at those "Public storage" area's and not close to here so i cant test that part.

I followed the guide to a "T", and i've modded many regular wii's so i understand the process.

oddly enough i did do the mod with
    Base 56, cios 249
    base 57, cios 250
    base 58, cios 251

    all appeared to install fine.

Should I re run the 2 Cios installers?

Also, sorry about the other post. I was thinking since it was kind of a different topic.

When I run the PSX and N64 emulator's my controller wont re-connect. Is it because I need to use the classic controller? Or any idea's as to why?

That's strike two. You multi-posted again. Don't find out what happens when you do that a third time.

Open the .cvs file with wordpad and paste it into the forums so we can get a good look at what you have. Also, please use the "b19" version of syscheck that is provided in the syscheck guide linked in my signature.

As for why the remotes won't launch? I don't know. It may need a classic controller or won't start up, it may be something different. I don't use those emulators so I don't know how they work.

And ok, lol sorry even double posting on your own post Gotcha.

Hmm and about the remotes i hope someone knows why that is happening.

Either something's weird with your system, or syscheck on wii U results in strange outcomes.

I forget what you were attempting doing, but if it's getting forwarders working, I would suggest against it, since there is no brick protection in a vWii, installing the wrong thing in the menu can brick it and there is no going back from that.

Launch your HBC apps from HBC directly.

If that wasn't what you were doing, can you repeat again what it is you were after?

So far I accomplished what I was originally set out to do.

I was not concerned on playing backups or anything as my old wii handles it, it was more to have the old-school games at hand

And I read not to install any forwarders so i am definitely avoiding that part. At first i thought I was only getting the forwarders until I was able to finally try it as i needed a nun-chuck and now it's all working good.

The only problem I have now is why or how to get the wii remote working with the PSX emulator and the N64 emulator.
