You only need the disc once, and that is to install the HBC. After that you never need it again. So if you are thinking that you have to put the disc in every time, you are mistaken. Once the HBC is there, its there for good unless you delete it, just like the regular Wii.

EDIT: So I see you saw the same thing as me nightstah. Thats what I get for walking away for a min LOL
Well I didn't know that I came across the scene after that primitive first wave of mods had been and gone my WII was 4.1 out of the box and I kept it vanilla for about 2 months before I even looked into modding it because I wanted to keep the warranty for it I guess I will do the same with this one as well even tho I have a lot more experience on the scene now I still would like to wait until something really solid is available or my warranty runs out. My other points still stand I don't own any of those titles and I don't know anybody who does yes I borrowed twilight but that was a once off I to this day have not finished it. I'm not going to go out of my way to get a hold of a copy of one just to mod only vWii I have a perfectly modded Wii I can use if I get desperate. Like I said I think Its good progress but I am going to just hang tight until the scene matures for this console so I can hack both modes of the console up to the same functionality of my existing Wii console.

I would probably borrow a disk if I knew someone nearby but I really don't want to rent one or have to hunt down a donor just for this method not when I know that a better method will be out by the time Wii U mode is hacked. Even with all of that said I wont hack the console if Nintendo start rolling out performance updates IMO the system is too young still to be worth hacking Nintendo are surly going to improve its platform over this year hacking it now will just cause heartache when I want to really push to that new version of the software at some point.

I also do not know if VWii and Wii U mode operate interdependently or not if they do then I might hack it sooner if not I will be just sit pretty until something with all the toppings rolls out.

HBC will not transfer. All your Miis, gamesaves and legitimate WiiWare will. Just remember if you do this it will wipe all the aforementioned items from your original Wii. So if you want to keep any of that stuff on your original Wii you need to make backups before doing the transfer. The transfer is safe to do

I've been wondering cause I've done already softmodded my vWii. There's that rumour about Nintendo being able to 'remotely' disable your console. Now I read through the EULA and it mentions nothing of that. Has there been any mention of people having their consoles disabled. I tend to delete IOS 236 through 251 as stated in this guide when I go online with the Wii U (I'm 99% sure Nintendo wouldn't detect the IOS whilst doing that but it's more of precaution personally) but despite that the only thing that isn't possible to get rid of is the Homebrew Channel log on 'Today's Accomplishments' so I'm just curious as to whether they can do anything to detect either CIOS or HBC.

Well, if N can disable consoles, they haven't yet to my knowledge. Not to mention that would be a really stupid thing for them to do for multiple reasons. These are all just rumors. Can they tell if your vWii is modded? Maybe. What would they do about it? Who knows...guess we will see LOL. But disabling your whole console I think is a bit extreme. JMO.

There were big rumours about that when the 3DS came out because of a specific clause in the EULA, but I don't think anything ever came of it. And if it's not in the WiiU's EULA at all, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Does anyone know if it is possible to remove the cios installed with this guide ?
Once the new WiiU firmware upgrade will be available (probably next spring), before doing the upgrade, is it possible to delete all the installed files in order to avoid the risk that Nintendo will brick the system ?

Post #54 and #55 in this thread largely speaks to your perceived fears... just a few up from your inquiry.
